Absolutely dire standard of a game England ladies are a better standard than these two pub teams ?

 

Newport Carnty here we come then ....a club promoted to the Midland Division in 1998-99 while we were being promoted to the...Premier League. Still you gets what you deserve I suppose ?

 

City and Newport were in the same league when I first started watching City.

 

Watching teams like this really pi**e's me off as to how far we have fallen thanks to Edin , remember sending Tranmere down a few years ago with a goal from the goal machine , 2 clubs going opposite ways back then , and now we are lower than they are , such a sad state of things , know success and failure go in circles but didn't think the cliff we fell off was so steep

 

Of course it hurts to see us back in the 4th tier. However, the beauty of football is the structure that allows a club like Tranmere to bounce back from adversity, and there is no reason why we cannot

 

That's a fact Sir but we have operated on a different planet to them since we met them on a regular basis. Which is my very point we've gone to the Premier League and they went outta business ! But we've thrown it all away and they've had time to reform and were it not for a 119 minute goal at Wembley today would deservedly be at a higher level than us ! Know it's hard for us all but that's it in a nutshell we waste every chance we strive for over and over again.

 

Sorry for Flynnie and more for us. Long trip and overnight doesn't help the finances. Tranmere much more cost effective, pre match at Cedar Court and 90 minutes down the motorway would have been much better but hey ho.

 

I remember listening to Newport playing Carl Zeiss Jena in the cup winners cup when I first started watching City.

Tranmere v Newport what a shockingly poor football game that was. A little taster for what to expect in eight weeks. Is there a pre-game food n drink ban in the D&D League 2 ? Sure that lot today had been on double MaciDs and Pale Ale afore they kicked off ?

Still onwards and upwards for the pub team from the Wirral clearly too good for the pub league now !

 

When was the last time that we, as a L2 side, got to the FA Cup 5th round, let alone making finals?

I remember watching Newport beat us 3-1 at VP about 78 or 79 and one of the worst City goalie displays I've ever seen, think it was Steve Smith and he was responsible for all 3 goals, god we were crap back then.
