    Indeed, which is why I expressed caution, and to blood him gently. It also serves to remind us we really do need a Reserve team, as occasional friendlies only slow down development, players need a competitive edge to their game too.

    I’ve been a big critic of Bowyer. You know what, fair play to him. I admire him dipping in to non-league and he must trust his own ability to develop these players. Loads of players were plucked from non-league and now doing well in the Premier League. One things for sure they will give 100 percent every game which will be the bare minimum next season.

    He'll certainly be no stranger to the 'rough and tumble' physical nature of league 2.
    If he can progress the rest of his game - City may have at last, found a gem.

    Hopefully people won't expect too much from him too soon, Bowyer describes him as 'a good project for us', not as the answer to our defensive problems.

    Bowyer reads this forum and this is evidence.So getting one or two out of the Bostick park league's is a start ? Plus he's delivered a signing as I said he needed to. Seems like hes up for it.

    I disagree about it being a big step up ? Has he seen the standard of League 2. ? Any half decent non league player can play in League 2. He'll do !

    Now let's have a couple of statement players NGG !

    My thoughts too, Jon. (It can't take much to better Steve Williams ...... can it ! ;) )
    Pre season will be as tough as Tyler makes it, for himself. Hopefully he can shine, and then be drip fed into the first eleven. But there again, if you're good enough - and chosen on merit ..... so be it.

    YEP ....... It did take time to adjust, as they do. However, his biggest 'failing' for me was his concentration, and game reading, as a consequence of that. That can cost a good player a yard, let alone an average one.

    About time we looked into non-league for players, there’s obviously talent there. Peterborough have done it numerous times and made some big money so hopefully we can do the same. No lose situation for me.
