Didn't somebody on here a about 2 or 3 years ago design a city shirt in claret&amber stripes with Lister mills in the back ground of the shirt
If I remember correctly it was well received but the new shirt was already in manufacturing and could not be changed
Could this be the one or is my age playing tricks on me

 

Ta. It is unique, and nicely blends City and the city. If he hasn't, he really should get in touch with the club to see if they're interested.

I started watching City in 75, for the first eight years of supporting them we wore predominantly white kits so didn't know any different, think my first season of stripes was the 83/84 myth breakers kit(possibly 77/78 was more claret and ambertoo? )
As for why we started wearing white, don't know, hope we we weren't copying "Super Leeds" they famously copied Real Madrid when deciding to change to an all white kit

 

Don't know if I'm rehashing old news, but sparks said the kit is based on an 'important' anniversary in our history. it is the 40 year anniversary of when we were automatically promoted from Div 4 to Div 3. the kit at the time looked like this.

he also mentioned amber and claret in both home and away kits so would make sense!

 

They are hideous! The first one, especially, is unbelievably disgusting.

 

If that was it, it would be an instant purchase from me.

 

And how about one that hasn’t run in the wash? Get rid of the bleed on that shirt, making it pure white, and it would look great.

 

I think these are concept kits done by this chap, not affiliated with the club or Avec.

Loved Roma in the early 2000s the Totti era was special! Plus they have nice colours....

 

It doesn't have a tongue because the history is that the Boar roamed Bolton Woods and the local landowners set up a ransom to catch it. The person who killed it couldn't carry it (or feared being mugged and having it stolen) so cut out the tongue and presented the tongue to claim the reward as evidence he had got there first.

 

I think they look the business. Good work! As an aside, I'd be more than happy to bin the star above the badge. I know it's related to the FA Cup win but it comes from national teams having stars relating to World Cup wins and an FA Cup win isn't quite the same! I'd rather have "11.05.85" or another fitting tribute to the fire above the badge (not a "56" number though as that potentially forgets everyone else affected).

 

I think people are going to like both the Home and Away kits... both are different to what we usually wear but think for those that aren't keen on the Home - they will really like the Away. And those that like the home I would have thought would like both. Third kit I think will divide people.

Away is a combination / style / pattern we've only had once in our history I believe.

 

Why not just describe them in more detail instead of being cryptic? If your not going to why mention it at all.

I think you'll find they do. How often did we wear claret & amber stripes away in the season just gone? Hardly ever. They want to sell away shirts as well as home ones, so they wear them, or the third kit, to promote them.
