Haha, i've never seen that before! Just Googled it and it was their logo from '78-'80. It must've been done by the infant child of the owner

 

In fairness, it's better than the one they currently have imo!

Nice! Those kits with the wolf (is it a wolf?) head on remind me of our boar's head logo in the 80's

 

Yeah its a wolf - Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome, were supposedly suckled by a wolf after they'd been abandoned. Great badge!

The history behind the boars head being the symbol of Bradford, is also an interesting one (notice it doesn't have a tongue). I'd be more than happy to have that back.

It doesn't have a tongue because the history is that the Boar roamed Bolton Woods and the local landowners set up a ransom to catch it. The person who killed it couldn't carry it (or feared being mugged and having it stolen) so cut out the tongue and presented the tongue to claim the reward as evidence he had got there first.

 

I think they look the business. Good work! As an aside, I'd be more than happy to bin the star above the badge. I know it's related to the FA Cup win but it comes from national teams having stars relating to World Cup wins and an FA Cup win isn't quite the same! I'd rather have "11.05.85" or another fitting tribute to the fire above the badge (not a "56" number though as that potentially forgets everyone else affected).

 

And meanwhile, someone found the boar, cut off its head and tried to claim the money. Long history of chancers in Bradford!

Yeah, I toyed with having a black ribbon within the logo, but it just didn't look right. I much prefer the memorial symbol at the back of the shirt on the neck/collar area, whether that's the black ribbon or the date. I don't mind the star TBH, at least we've won the FA Cup, no matter how long ago it was.

I think you’re right on this. Apparently the club and Radio Leeds want to commemorate the anniversary of our first Wembley appearance. There is a programme on tonight, featuring the likes of AK talking about the victory over Notts Co.

So it makes sense for the kit(s) to resemble something to do with our 1996 apparel. The away kit was blue with black collar and the home shirt was broad claret & amber stripes (also with black collar and stripes down the arms too. Right?

 

Sounds rather uninspiring tbh. I get that tradition tends to dictate that we play in C&A stripes but I do like a bit of variation now and again and the concept kits I saw on here were absolutely superb.
