Just imagine we sound out a company like Macron to be the producers of 3 new football strips + other casual merchandise etc over the next 6 years, giving them our past sales of shirt and casual wear we have sold on an annual basis.
I would think that kind of proposition might get Macron to offer flights out to Bologna to see and meet Mr Palila Macrons Country Manager for the UK and Ireland with regards the set up at Macron for themselves, I would assume for a League Two club with our shirt sales this contract will be a nice earner for Macron and a visit from 2/3 Bradford City representatives is hardly going to break bank, possibly written off as a tax break entertaining customers.XCIV_Bantam, Budgie and Fools Gold like this. -
If we are going back to claret and amber stripes I hope they get the colours right and not the rhubarb and custard attempts we have had in the past that looked dreadful, At least get the colours right

I've got both of the diamond patterned shirts, and you're right, they go for big money. Fella recently was selling that Everton shirt, and wanted £300 for it. As much as you may dislike the 90's shirts, seems there's a market for them. Mostly to weirdo collectors like me, who buy them, look at them, then put them away in a sealed bag to look at on rainy days

Could the decline of Bradford prosperity and the perennial failure of the team be linked to the absence of the boars head at all? I speak tongue in cheek of course... unlike the infamous pig!
For donkeys years the boars head was the de facto symbol of Bradford, eventually adorning the shield (later to become the coat of arms) accompanied with the motto, ‘labor omnia vincit' – 'hardwork overcomes all' in 1847. As John Dewhirsts's excellent
'Wool City Rivals' publication indicates, this maxim came to symbolise a Bradford mindset in all aspects of life, sport included.
A great civic pride amongst vibrant generations of Bradfordians existed throughout the period of remarkable industrial growth that occurred over the following century, the like of which propelled Bradford into the social and economical limelight on a grandiose level unseen before or since. I'd speculate that the striking image of a tongueless boar would have been etched into the consciousness of the city's inhabitants and would have represented power and success on a massive international scale.
The 'Bradford pals' who perished at the somme would have been identified as such at the time by the boars head mufti badges they'd have worn in battle and i'd imagine the boar would have been a symbol of the unity and brotherhood that had taken them all to that hellish place in the first place.
Obviously, Bradford was to endure a great decline in the latter half of the 20th century, recession hitting alongside mass unemployment - simultaneous with the withdrawal of the boars heads image from the traditional places it'd occupy, remaining evidence of this can be seen on the Victorian and Edwardian buildings that still survive in the city.
Could it be that this strong sense of municipal self-esteem once so prevalent in Bradford and now I'd argue, somewhat diminished, has any correlation to the dissolution of the boars head?
I doubt it very much like, but I for one would love to see its return. And who knows? Perhaps Mark Hughes's Bradford army may start to 'overcome all with their hard work', and it'll be the mighty Bantams serving league 2 opposition's heads on a platter next season.
I must say however, that I'd keep the name 'the Bantams' by the way. I reckon 'the Boars' would be much more aligned to a side managed by Derek Adams!Ulysses S Grant, Inspector and Sergio Pinto III like this. -
