New Goalkeeper Coach: John Vaughan

    New gk coach.

    League One runners-up Barnsley last term, with Tykes stopper Adam Davies being named in the PFA Team of the Year.

    The former Preston, Fulham and Cambridge keeper said: “I am really looking forward to it. I am well aware of Bradford and the size of the club.

    “It will be a lot of hard work but I am excited for the challenge ahead this season.

    “When I found out there was an opening at the club, Gary Bowyer and I had a chat, figured we felt the same way about football, and got the deal sorted.

    “I am determined to hopefully make the goalkeepers better. As the goalkeeper coach, that is the fundamental aspect.

    “If you can improve the standard of the goalkeepers, you improve the standard of the team.

    “I do not think Bradford should really be in League Two and we are not going to be hanging around in our attempts to go back up at the first time of asking.”

    City manager Bowyer is pleased to have added Vaughan to City’s ranks and is looking forward to establishing a successful working relationship with the addition to his backroom staff.

    Bantams boss Bowyer added: “We are really delighted John has agreed to join us.

    “His experience in the game - both in playing and coaching - will be invaluable, not just for the goalkeepers, but for all our team, including myself and the coaching staff.

    “John’s record in developing goalkeepers is fantastic and we look forward to seeing him having further success here at Valley Parade.”

    CITY have appointed John Vaughan as the club’s new goalkeeping coach.

    The 54-year-old arrives at Valley Parade on a one-year contract, which will see him hold the role until at least the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

    Well that's the goal keeping coach sorted :thumbup:.
