I would like to see refs, use the marking spray for free kicks, employed in throw ins. If the player taking the throw crosses the designated line, the throw in is awarded to the opposite side. It would certainly stop teams liberally moving up the pitch by huge amounts. Easy to apply. Would also avoid time wasting when they are sent back.

    Very good Monkey.

A rule I’d like to see in football is one from NHL ice hockey over here. Embellishment! It’s a cracker. So if a bloke hits you legally and you start rolling around on the floor, you get sent to the sin bin.

Let the physio come on to treat him but carry on playing, in both above scenarios

And a clamp down on shirt pulling. Once a few penalties are awarded it will soon stop

And my pet hate……Bl00dy keepers flopping on the ball, without a player within 10 yardsafter a simple catch. Pickford started it the cretin. I hate it. Book em, they will soon stop .

Most rules that currently exist are perfectly adequate to stop most of the crap that goes on in games.
It’s the piss poor standard of a lot of referees who fail to enforce them that is the problem.

As per every season, they’ll have a clampdown on shirt pulling etc for the first month or so and then we’ll be back to normal for the rest of the season.

Jock Stewart - I used to watch him down at Upton Park. Best penalty taker ever, IMHO. No farting about - just smashed it into the roof of the net. Almost never missed.

According to Wiki, all 11 players in both the 1964 FA Cup Final & 1965 Cup Winners Cup Final teams were English. (Also had an an English manager, and English coach, arrived on an English bus, had an English Bull Dog as mascot and a full English for breakfast before the match).

And maybe referees will just let play carry on around injured players unless it’s a genuine head injury.
It’s creeping back into the game where players will go down with ‘cramp’ in the final minutes.

So Balls on cones dotted around the pitch. Not sure exactly where they will go as there isn't much space between the line and stands in some grounds, plus the closer they are to the pitch the more chance of them ending up on the pitch during play

How would it avoid time wasting?

Surely it would take longer to take the throw as referees would constantly have to move players back?

If linesman is at the side they should just mark where it went out as they should be close by which would mean the ref only having to mark half the throw ins and they should be near by. They shouldn't ever have to go and move the players back after marking where the throwing is

He must have missed a few after I stopped going regularly. He never seemed to miss when I saw him.

Wow, how times have changed. Imagine having three cup winning sides now with all English players except for one Scot!

We say that about diving though Kev and that hasn't turned out to be the answer either as it's very difficult to determine what is and isn't a dive.

I’ve said it on numerous occasions.
There are good refs and bad refs.
There are some piss poor refs in the Premier league who are full time.

This conspiracy theory shite that’s spouted on here by some about certain refs is laughable.
If refs are shit in our game on a Saturday, they are more than likely going to be poor in another game.
The thinking that certain refs are only poor in our games and then suddenly turn in to Collina for Barrow v Harrogate 3 days later just makes me smile.
They are human. They will always make mistakes.
My view of a foul or a yellow may be totally different to yours.
All we hope is that any ref makes as few mistakes as possible.

Your last sentence is bang on.
There’s never a thread when a ref has a really good game.
When we benefit from a dodgy decision the silence is always deafening.

Define genuine head injury? The ref would stop it, he ain’t employed by Holby City!
