You're right PNS, they won't put millions in and I don't expect them to (not now I have had my expectations suitably managed). What I think we are all entitled to as stakeholders though, is a level of competence at the highest level.

The strategy is unclear and from this muddle we get what we currently have. An apparent lurching from one crisis to another, reacting to events rather than proactively shaping them. This latest embarrassment over the coach appointment being a case in point.

 

Compromise is an issue and I agree with you that decisions seem a bit too reactive and uncertain. Edin and Rupp may well be accused of floundering thereby possibly putting the Club in jeopardy but we are stuck with people learning the game.Ideally this wouldn't be the case, but I believe that their business acumen is sound. Time will tell as the new season gets underway and I will give them the benefit of doubt, also, as you, I don't favour second best if it becomes a trend.

 

Absolutely right mate, they are learning the game but are surrounded by total inexperience having stripped the club of most or all of it's football nous. The thing that worries me even more is the fact that Rahic thinks he "knows football". You and I know the truth but he seems oblivious to the fact. "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing" could have been written for this scenario.

 

You see, I think with this appointment he has grown some balls. It's like a massive middle finger to the supporters, saying "I'll do it my way. End of"

 

I agree. Sometimes the worst situation is when you make no decision than make a bad decision. At least you can recover from a bad decision but a prolonged decision just paralyses everything.

 

You realise the guy he's replacing didn't have any experience in the role when he took it and made loads of gaffs which people now forget or brush under the carpet because they don't like Edin..

I'd love another unknown to get a big job, the meltdown will be tremendous.

People have very short and/or selective memories when it suits them.

 

Phil Woolias got a manager role over Gas engineers despite having no knowledge of gas, other than sales.
I was one of his team as a gas engineer, and he pulls no punches to get to the top, he doesn't care whether you like him or not he just gets things done, I think thats a compliment from someone who had a couple of run ins with him early doors, but he didn't hold grudges.
I'm sure if he got the job he would be a success, he certainly has the talk.

 

Edin will just do the job surely !!
