Neil Redfearn returns to the Academy

Good appointment.

You can now see why the bookies offered short odds for a time on him being our next first team manager if they got wind of him returning to us.

At the time I thought he might be coming to manage our ladies team

 

Never mentioned in case it fell through, but a friend of mine is a neighbour of Redfearns and he text weeks ago to say Neil told him he was going back to City but they were still working out the roles duties in the academy.

Great appointment on paper. Worked very well getting some of the Leeds academy ready for first team football. Saw in the article on the appointment, he is supposed to bridge the gap between academy and the first team, wasn't that a role we gave to Trueman after he and Sellars were dropped? Guessing he's either been doing it or the task was quietly dropped when he was made a part of Hughes backroom team?

 

Our next caretaker manager !

 

Hopefully can provide some insight to young gems elsewhere which GA may want to consider too with his knowledge.

A great no nonsense deep lying middle of the park/ defensive midfielder in the Prem . Dependable for sure . Good luck to him.

I thought that was Truemans job,so what is he doing now?.

 

I think it was originally OGF , but not since the pair were given the managers job, and when that broke down Truman was kept on as you know and seems to have been an assistant coach ever since?

 

He is first team coach and loan manager

 

I thought that was Hodges job, and now Luketti’s. or was it Managers Assistant.?I don’t know about loan manager though, I thought that was Gents brief?

If only we had some continuity with titles and moreso personnel !

 

An interesting fact, is that he was playing for Lincoln on that fateful day in 85. For sure he knows what this club is all about and values. Glad he’s onboard.

 

Hodges and Luketti are assistant managers. Gent is Head of Recruitment so once a player is in the club he has nothing to do with them, as Loan Manager Trueman will track the players out on loan like East, Young, Youmbi and Richardson to see how they are doing and report back to Alexander whilst looking for potential clubs for other players who could be loaned out

 

Hodges ? Didn't he go with Hughes ?

This is a step in the right direction. Bringing in actual football people in football roles.

Is the same as I posted the other night . Titles mean different things or indeed the same things depending on which club you are at . It’s a farce . Is it a manager or if owned by dollars it’s a head coach , is it a DoF or Head of Recruitment . Arghhh !
