Nothing wrong with it. Storm in a teacup. He kept his back to our keeper before the penalty, trying to be arrogant or whatever. Anderson took offence, obviously words were exchanged in passing. At least Anderson was showing a bit of passion. For all we know they might have been needling each other during the match

Agree. The way some fans, especially Bolton, are talking, you would think the Bolton players were 12 year old. For heaven sake, they are 19 year old professionals.

 

Absolutely Steve, quite the opposite view to Bolton fans, I believe this lad's antics quite possibly cost his team the game, he certainly let his mates down. If you're going to showboat you had generally better make sure you pull the trick off or you will get a reaction from those you are trying it on with. As you say, storm in a tea cup but watching the coaching staff after the event, I don't think they saw the funny side and I'm absolutely certain Keith Hill won't see it that way.
Sad for them as the four previous pens had showed very good ability, even the one which hit the bar (so for that matter had ours ) but when he lined up the two of us in the Directors Box both thought he was going to backheel, so when he turned round it was obvious where the ball was going, straightforward save. Shame in some ways as they have some talent but as said elsewhere in this thread, "It's a mans game".
Hope the young lad learns from it.

I think we should be nominated for a fair play award. Unlike nasty Tranmere and Ipswich that humiliated those sweet Bolton teenagers, we gave them a goal start, encouraged them to think they were always in the game and gave them a chance to win.

 

Maybe if he’d scored there would have been no issue. When a person takes a pen, it’s up to him how he does it. Personally, I prefer the Charlie Rackstraw way of never missing!

 

Was that not a myth that Rackstraw never missed a penalty?. I thought he missed one?

 

I wouldn't slate HIM too much, but obviously that silly penalty technique needs to go.

That's just about learning rather than stamping out individuality.

He did however fail his one and only spot kick playing non league

 

He missed one in a reserve match. He also missed one out of the league for BPA.
