No idea why the owner is stalling on selling as it's hard to see what he gains from it.

 

Very strange and sad state of affairs .

 

The owner of Morecambe has just sacked the board of directors who were going to put the club into administration in order to give them some kind of legal protection. It now looks like the future of the club is in the hands of a ego mad owner who has thrown his toys out of the pram.

 

Bury all over?

 

It looks that way as it stands, which would be a shame. Morecambe even though they got the better of us a number of times was always a fixture which people made an effort to get across to as an away day.

 

I dont get the situation at Morecambe. The owner apparently repeatedly said he’d sell. So what value does he get holding on to club, now he’s sacked the board, unable to pay wages?

 

The whole thing is very very wierd.

The company that owns Morecambe Football Club and holds all the shares is

The accounts for this company are utter garbage, there is no detail in them what so ever and they look like they have been put together on the back of a beer mat. They state they are "Micro Entity Accounts" whilst pointing to the legislation of a small company in their notes to the balance sheet. (Micro Accounts aren't supposed to have gross assets above £316k yet the assets in this balance sheet are shown as £2.8m. I guess they are banking on no trade or employees to lean to micro but if they are then they should refer to Micro not small as the basis of accounts.

Nothing has change from 2023 to 2024.

I have noticed in the Morecambe accounts the land and property which I presume to be the stadium is secured against a loan, one might guess that like with Bury it is in the owners interest to let the company fail, sweep up the stadium to cover the loan and then be left with the land an no football club.

 

Precisely what I was suggesting .

Sixways Stadium, Warriors Way, Hindlip, Worcester, Worcestershire, United Kingdom, WR3 8ZE
25 different companies some dissolved some active .
I wouldn’t buy a stamp off him .
