So, MLS is returning in USA next month with a tournament hosted at Walt Disney resort. Surely this must be The Mickey Mouse tournament, on a few different levels. (Not a fan of MLS, can you tell?)

I don’t mind the MLS, it’s watchable. Obviously the atmosphere is a bit different, and the history isn’t there. But I’ve enjoyed some games in the past nonetheless. Some of the attendances are up there with top European leagues as well, so it’s catching on in the States it seems.

    Shame this didn’t catch on.

How does any professional footballer miss in one of those situations?

The same way professional footballers slice one straight into touch, let one through their legs or sky out over from a yard I'd imagine?

It is actually more complicated that it looks for some simple rule...the shooter had to be in the box to shoot the ball, which is why these guys can't just take a touch or two and curl it around. This required the ball handler to sprint into the box before the keeper could come out and collect it.

It was vastly entertaining, but sadly it didn't stick.

So - it's a tournament yes, but the points teams gain here will transfer over to the table.

Still - it's a tinpot tournament (and I do follow the MLS)

I decided to go to LA Galaxys first ever match in the MLS. I think it was against Dallas at the Rose Bowl. 110,000 people turned up for that match!!
