Memorial service on Saturday

I knew they did it through Covid but dont know if they carried on .........shame if they dont with all them Bantams kiving far away wanting to show there respects

 

Not really needed though Gaz. Just reliving it all in one’s mind is enough for me. One minutes silent thoughts is perfectly adequate even after all those years.
Even though I watch the games from afar, the bit on the paddock where I was stood with my mates on the day is still there, still visible on camera when the teams walk out ….RiP dear fans

 

As @AngryGaz says I don't think so, it doesn't matter where you pay your respects mate 39 years on Saturday where does the time go.
I was 37 at the time my future Infront of me unfortunately not the case for many who went down to watch their team be crowned Champions.
R.I.P the 56.

 

Where has time gone indeed. I was in my mid 20's at the time, now heading toward retirement and a Grandad.

Despite all that's happened in my life since then, the images I witnessed that day remain very vivid and forever etched into my memory bank.

I will be there today.
It took me quite a few years before i physically attended. The memories of that day were far too vivid and still are today.
Rip the 56 members of our football family.

Many familiar faces there once again Jacko, Kammy, most of the first team and many of the young kids, got a barrier so I could lean on it and who stood right in front of me Cook, Kelly and Walker, Kavangh minus his man bob.
For those of a certain age can you put a name to this guy,

 

Very fitting service, well attended and observed by old and young on a beautifull day.
Proud to be part of the bantam family.

RIP to those we lost that day, and also thoughts are with all the survivors too, whether they were at the game, or lost their loved ones

I wasn’t at the game, I was almost 7 years old but can still remember the black smoke from miles away, and the news reports. Neighbours returning in astonishment from what they were witnessing. Things like that live with you

It certainly puts the mundane everyday lifestyle in perspective

 

God bless the 56, and every good wish to those who were physically and mentally injured that terrible day, which still seems like yesterday.

 

No but face is familiar,who is it ?

 

Tommy Hollinger he has a brother called Patsy. back in the day they ran a travel club a few who contribute on here used to travel with them I believe it was based in the Lord Clyde but I could be wrong.

 

Went down after the service......

 

Never been to one, as it was too much, but I will be there next year for the 40th. I was 21 at the time, and not even married for the first time, let alone the second with two kids in their mid 20's, where has life gone. I've had six jobs since then !
