I think McElhone will have a big impact - and it's excellent that Hopkin has got his own team in now.

as a bit of a wider point re: players performances this season, I think we should be adding a 'pre Edin('s departure) and post Edin('s departure) disclaimer, and pre that happening, I think a certain amount of slack should be cut - I'm not completely absolving them of blame - there's no way a professional footballer shouldn't be doing the basics for example, but I think we have to factor in the atmosphere around the club, morale, and how no body wanted to work for the man, and how everything that happened effected what happens on the pitch.

now this has been resolved, I'm expecting (and have been proven right so far) much improved performances from the team.

I understand that view, and you're very entitled to it - I think that anyone at all would have found it difficult to perform at their best at the club under ER, though.

It would appear that Hopkin was just as impressed as we all were with Wright's jogging back alongside the Barnsley player in the Checkatrade match -- wasn't that his last appearance for us? Others of our "weaker" players at least make the subs bench, but has he even made that since?

Which rebuild version will we be on now? This will be a rebuilding of the rebuilt squad that was itself a rebuilding of the inadequately reinforced squad which was a rebuilding of a playoff squad which was itself an inadequate, in some ways, rebuilding of a previous playoff squad. I think.

    Omnishambles.

But 8 points from our last 5 matches works out to 1.6 points per match. If we keep at this pace, we'll be safe -- and that would be with the current squad, problematic as it might be.

NO WAY @Ricc@Ricc ................... JUST as a Manager, or Head Coach can't do anything beyond that white line, neither can a Director. As a 'player' - You have instincts, and try to do what is 'right'.
You are either fully committed or not - Simples !

Obviously City have more than a few who are not ........... So ship 'em out ASAP !

I agree. Players used to professional standards at other clubs must have wondered what kind of a disaster zone they'd wandered into. It's hard to be motivated to perform at your best when the environment you're working in is a shambles.
It seems clear that the team has bonded and developed a much greater collective spirit since Edin was sidelined and Hopkin given proper control of football matters.

Think it’s clear that this bloke is having an impact now.

Akpan is looking like a footballer all of a sudden and has had three decent games in a row.

Doyle looks full of beans and Miller, running in behind, seems to be covering so much ground and been pivotal in this new attacking wave we’ve seen.

Jason Thornton said on The Pulse we’ve had 80 shots on goal in December, 42 on target. It has coincided with the new fitness man coming in.

Ball, Payne and L. O’Brien also seem to be bursting with energy every time they get the ball. They’re playing with confidence again and it is great to see.

Just read a piece about Anton and he's worked at Spurs with the likes of Harry Kane, Tom Carroll, Andros Townsend, Steven Caulker, Ryan Mason, and Alex Pritchard, could he persaud Caulker to come to Bradford City ?.

Basically it comes down to football being about the whole team. A great team is better than its sum parts and a poor team often the opposite. The coaching and fitness team make the difference

Ten years with Spurs says it all.
If you have any asperations to play in the Premier League get used to training like a Premier player or ship out that's why the sherkers arnt in the team.
He's been a revelation since his arrival and a few on the books have been found out.
Long may the New training regime reign.

It's not just a physical fitness thing either. He also works on the mental aspects of personal performance and team dynamics.

Outside of the manager, could he potentially be the signing of the season come the end of it?

I'd suggest that he's probably had more influence, these are basically the same players DH had already

I understand we have also brought back a sports psychologist to work with our forwards around the same time mcelhone joined. He used to work with us under Parkinson but was a victim of the Rahic regime.
Since then all our strikers immediately started scoring.
The whole club just feels more professional now, long may it continue
