McCall IN/OUT (with new Poll)

Our inaction during summer was misguided at best, and once we did begin to sign players the recruitment was quite frankly garbage.

The club have had us all on strings this summer;

• JV won't be leaving without substantial compensation
• JV will be replaced
• 9k+ season tickets - we're in a better position that most
• We don't need a scouting set up because we have a WYScout subscription - which anyone with a smart phone can set up

To then be told once the season has started;

• We we're never going to be Top 3

We've all been had and McCalls delusion/failure to accept reality/spiky attitude is wearing thin and risks alienating decades-long fans.

 

He demands success. Doesn't always get and makes mistakes, one of them being £500,000 on Luke James who played against us yesterday. But christ i'd love him at my club, he'd have the fans eating out of his hands, just like BFG did. Only until Rupp and Rhodes move can this club move on.

 

Out of interest IF SM went who would get a tune out of this group of misfits? 352 442 any formation going would not improve the bang average quality of this squad. No creativity, poor defending, no leader, weak captain, need I go on. It's a recipe for disaster.
Any half decent side are beating us with relative ease. We are a soft touch and yesterday proved it. When they scored I did not see 1 player show any real emotion.
We are sleepwalking towards oblivion.

Whoever the new CEO is they MUST be brought in ASAP.

JR needs to move aside and let the new CEO set out a plan moving forwards. Right now there is only 1 way I can see the team going.
Christ its bad enough with having a lockdown but to witness a display like that , even with 10 men, is hard to stomach.
Where has my Bradford City gone?

 

IF and its a big IF we stay up this season that comment about never going for the top 3 will be remembered by a good amount of fans next season when the season tickets go on sale, if the club accept that lack of ambition why should fans be expected to pay for just wanting to survive in the this league

 

Don't get me wrong, I think it would be disastrous if Rhodes got to make another managerial appointment, but what is McCall getting out of his squad?

I don't see anything to suggest he is having any kind of positive impact on anyone whatsoever. There's no organisation, no structure, confusion over roles and as you point out from the players lack of reaction, no consequences to anything they do on the pitch. However limited a squad we may have there are simple things any semi competent manager can instil in a side.

 

Even if we don’t go down (which I don’t believe we will) , every season in this league is a season closer to oblivion, Rhodes might crow about his balancing the books but the squad is an all time poor, our fan base is declining, supporters have lost trust, he is leaving us teetering on the brink with our worst squad in 25 years. What will our crowds be if we ever get back in the stadium, less than they were before, and even less monies coming in.

We have a team of players bar one or two we are embarrassed about. Most I’d bet couldn’t give a stuff about this club. Kiwomya called it, they don’t even rollack each other, a shrug of the shoulders if the chips are down.

Anyone can balance the books by slashing expenditure(wages) and that is our business model.

Our main rivals are now Harrogate Town. Not Leeds, not Huddersfield, not Sheffield.

By the time Rupp and JR do one this club will be sunk for good.

 

If it's true Rhodes is in talks with a CEO and we have a replacement then the new CEO needs to be working on who he wants as manager of the club before joining the Rhodes needs to get rid of McCall.

Hopefully, a Sporting/Football director will be on the cards to be brought in but the club needs a plan. We can't continue as we are as it doesn't work.

On and off the pitch this club is a failure.

 

I think that question could be asked of all the managers (including the present one) most acknowledge that squad under McCalls second season were over achieving but none the less they were there on merit so we have to ask why Grayson couldnt get a performance during his short stay.
Why couldnt Collins we were told during that closed season players were being recruited with regards the new coach, Hopkin fared no better, nor did Bowyer and so far this season its dire, how many new faces do we have to go through before we get lucky.

 

I have tried to fully back Stuart, I really have.

I can't anymore, I've changed my vote, McCall needs to leave.

He can't control his temper and his morale isn't lifting the spirit of the team. We need a manager that is good at lifting players spirits, if I was a Bradford City player I would feel pretty deflated after hearing his post match interviews recently.

I really hope I'm wrong, I hope he turns it around and proves everyone wrong, but I'm sorry, I just can't back him as a manager anymore. I don't see him turning this around.

Stuarts attitude overall isn't one of uplifting a teams spirit, it's one of anger and resentment, I don't like how he gets angry at the post match interviewer. He had his chance to come back and vindicate himself after being unfairly sacked by Rahic, Stuart is starting to fail now. Stuart did well last time before Rahic tried to micro manage him and then sacked him, but last time Stuart inherited a good squad from Parky.

No excuses anymore, Stuart, you're a Bradford City legend on the pitch, but off the pitch you're not the man to take us back up to League One. The way things are going we're going to slide further down the table.

Again I really hope I'm wrong, I'm not one to be pessimistic with my outlooks but I gotta be realistic about what I'm seeing on and off the pitch, Stuart has been given a good solid chance to prove himself and he's failing.

I know people are saying people above Stuart behind the scenes are also to blame, but look at where we were when Parky took over, he took a shoestring budget team and turned us into Playoff winners and cup runners, I don't think Stuarts ability is anywhere near that.

I expected Mid-table this season but right now we're gonna be struggling to stay in the football league and I don't want to see our club end up like Notts County, York City, Chesterfield and Stockport County.

Sorry Stuart buddy but I think it's time you step aside and let someone come and give the fans and squad the morale boost we all sorely need.

We shouldn't be going into a match against Tonbridge Angels worrying about getting beat again, we should be excited for the FA Cup, instead we're worried about being humiliated by a team 2 leagues below us.

It's very possible they have the ability to beat us, simply because this squad is lacking the morale boost, team spirit, training and leadership it sorely needs. If we got beat by Tonbridge and had better morale on and off the pitch it wouldn't matter, but for me when I see morale getting lower and lower week in and week out it's not a good sign. Low Morale leads to relegation.

Sorry a bit of an essay there by myself, please prove me wrong Stuart, get me happy clapping again.

Despite assertions by some on here Shirley hasn't done the honourable thing and walked.

Shirley (he can't be that bad...oh yes he is) is hanging on hoping something changes or gets his contract paid out. I say hope because there is no plan. Even his statement that he was done messing with formations and players turned out to be hollow as he changed his team again yesterday.

Seems some are attaching traits and skills to Shirley, honourable man, football manager, that are simply not there.

It could well have been a decision made by the Board. Close season recruitment suggested the club was playing safety first and not overloading the wage bill in the event of a covid disrupted season. As a business (financial) decision I can understand that if survival of the club was their aim.

 

Yep, I listen to everyone. Darragh has a plan and executes it well.

It starts with Vision, Values, Aims, Objectives.

We have none of these in place. Rudderless, but it's been like that since 2002.

That’s why the next manager has to be chosen wisely and at the right time. That’s why I hope Stuart can arrest this bad run the team are on because if not he will be sacked in the middle of a very hectic fixture list and who is going to take temporary charge.
If this happened we will once again appoint another name from the out of work managerial roundabout. Instead of interviewing as many people as possible and doing the research to find the right person for the job. Not necessarily from this country either, Huddersfield and Barnsley have shown there is talent abroad. This process takes time and at the moment we haven’t got that time

 

I think it's a huge missed opportunity but I understand the rationale behind that approach. But the execution is looking flawed, because this doesnt look a safe squad. It looks a squad that could very much become embroiled in a relegation fight.
