You are brilliant entertainment on this forum. Brilliant LOL moments from your various, er, insightful comments.

You should be pleased as you've got some rivals, who are as away with the fairies as you are.

Pretty certain at around this time in 2012, you were campaigning for Parky to get sacked.

A lot of rash frustrated posts within this thread, but I do get a lot of them as with MH if you read through his previous clubs fans opinions he has never been known for a free flowing attacking side and in the main I often find the previous clubs fans reviews more often than not turn out to be true. But in the current time we're in as a club I think his style is a good a fit for us right now, yes it's frustrating at times to watch and brings a lot of disgruntlement from the stands but I also think this is fuelled multiple times born from frustration of years of disappointment. And also yes we all expect promotion but let's not forget this is his first full season at this level, and if we fail so be it I'm more than happy to go again as we can't continue chopping and changing.

Its not what I expected tbh

Even if we get promotion I think it will be more of the same ... not really bums off the seat more like head on the pillow stuff

I wanted him out back in January and he has yet to prove me wrong. Failing so often at home is sackable in my mind and he is wasting what was a perfectly respectable squad in our division.

The club will pay a heavy price in ST sales for next year and will almost certainly go backwards as a result. There .... I feel better now :)

I considered ifollow for a few seconds, glad I didn't waste £10 on it. I'm missing Harrogate as well as we are away, again I'm happy about that. Would rather be in an Ambleside pub than watching the rubbish he turns out.

He's been given a much better budget than any recent manager and he's spunking iit up the wall.

If the weather is nice on new years day, I'm tempted to get out for a nice long walk. Much better for my mental health than a visit to VP.

Don't even go there Bronco. It's not even thinkable that we would lose to them. Surely.

They will be up for it and are possibly slight favourite on paper based on our current form at home.
The FA Cup defeat was embarrassing from so many aspects and to be honest even the away win I witnessed at their ground wasn't deserved.

We are still favourites to win. Harrogate are poor this year. Put it this way, the bookies have us 3/4 and Harrogate are 4/1. It’ll be a draw won’t it, and a chorus of boos at another two points dropped!

Yep I know and I'll still be there, so much optimism at the start of the season (and I still haven't given up on a play off place) but things have got to change and todays post match interview was the first time I'd heard Hughes actually say as well as players our formation could change.

Like you say, no issues with us having different opinions, but I just can't abide the idea of another reset.

    What would I change?

Well, always look at those who aren't contributing anything. Who is contributing less than Gilliead? Easy! Vadaine Oliver, Levi Sutton, Abo Eisa, Lee Angol, Timi Odusina, Liam Ridehalgh, Luke Hendrie, Jake Young, and others.

Vadaine has been a massive let down, and contributes nothing off the bench. I'd rather have a worse player that makes more of an impact.

Sutton, Eisa and Angol can all leave and none of us would miss them.

But the first team needs improving in Gilliead's position for a starter, although I still wonder if Chapman could do that job? Not convinced though, so two-thirds of central midfield needs improving, and we need a winger that can compete with the PL kids (Wright & Banks - Eisa ain't it).

Foulds, for me, also nowhere near.

We need to be ruthless this window, or the season's over before February begins.

Most of the players you’ve listed I agree with. Particularly Gilliead, less so Oliver.
But regardless of the different solutions to the problem everyone readily admits is there, it seems everyone agrees the central midfield is a key problem.
Smallwood and Gilliead too similar, and a lack of anyone breaking from midfield or driving the team forward. Chapman may be an option within our current squad but I think we need to look outside the squad for the fix to that problem.
Hughes post match comments hopefully show he finally accepts something has to change, one way or another

Gilliehead is a square peg in a round hole, we need to replace him with the quality that you speak of, maybe Hughes thought he would improve in the role as the season progressed? Walker in my opinion is the attacking midfielder we need as he is not afraid to run at defenders and has the quality to create the chances we need to create. Most defenders in this league hate being run at, scares them to death.

What wingers do we we have who will do that? Ours are inverted wingers who like to cut inside not bombard teams with crosses, in fact lost clubs simply don’t play like that anymore.

I think we need someone who can actually cross a ball into the box. Look at our corners I go make a cup of tea when we get a corner because nothing happens. If we have players who can do that then it is worth trying to see if our quality players can play 442. I am not saying every match but we need a plan B and C. The opposition should not be coming to VP knowing the team and how to stop us.

We have the perfect players for 4-3-3 which is the best and most flexible formation. For example we leave Songo on the bench when as a physical ball winner on the ground and in the air he would be perfect for centre of the three in midfield. I know some will say a tadd slow but not much would get past him as he dictated the game in our favour.

    True.

Imagine thinking Gilliead, Platt, Halliday and Foulds are the best players in League Two.

They start for us pretty much every week, LOL

I’d probably go Wright, Cook, Banks given they’ve scored this season, with Walker in the centre of the midfield 3.
