How dare you criticise the Council!

Look they have grand plans to ‘redevelop’ Odsal into a World Class Stadium (subject to grants from Central Government) plus turn the Oxenhope to Keighley preservation line into a state of the art (or something like it) rail commuter link!

‘Plans to turn Odsal Stadium into “a national home for Rugby League” are among the latest multi-million-pound bids for Government Levelling Up cash’. https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/20604842.odsal-stadium-rebuild-bingley-pool-reopening-among-cash-bid-plans/

I genuinely can’t see Hughes leaving anytime soon.

He applied for jobs in recent years but wasn’t even getting interviews, and he’s on record as saying that some clubs he was at the fans never wanted him from the word go. At City he’s been welcomed with open arms and I think that means a lot to him.

I get the feeling the love is reciprocated and he’s in it for the long haul here.

As much as I love City, as a sport I've always seen Rugby League as the best sport in the world when played at its best, it's 80 minutes of pure action that can't be beat. And it saddens me that of what's happened to a team that brought so much to not only the sport but also to Bradford as a City. Odsal has always been a contentious issue but also has a sporting history quite unique due to its multi purpose construction. I think Odsal sums up the City of Bradford quite well, the place has seen better days but has been allowed to wither and die because of failed administration, corruption and political agendas. As it stands there is no need for an Odsal stadium anymore. Motorsports doesn't bring in enough interest and the bulls are a sinking ship. The likes of Leeds and Saints are playing yet another grand final on Saturday and both have stadiums befitting successful teams. Bradford, well........

Michael Flynn. He was the front runner and in the frame which was why he apparently resigned at Newport then Cardiff did a reversal leaving him out of work until the Walsall job came up. Watch this space.

We'll definitely see him 'linked' with a few clubs if you keep linking him with clubs.

    That's an absolute certainty.

But if you don't post these threads, he's unlikely to be 'linked'.

But I know all City fan wish away players and managers.

No doubt Cook will soon be 'linked' to moves away.

Sparky was out of work for a long time. Can anyone see a Championship side chasing him after five league 2 victories?

Its absolute nonsense. If he takes us up there could be a few looking on at him but he hasnt done anything in the game for years which is why he is at League 2.

I did it for 6-8 months , worked in London, family back in Bradford. Hotel life is pretty damn awful and lonely, no matter what the quality.

Rodger’s is third or fourth highest paid PL manager at £10 million a year. Rumour Foxes can’t afford a pay off and if they did he wouldn’t go somewhere in a rush.

Unless he needs the money then I cannot see him going anywhere yet .......... he’s at a club in the up a fan base that bloody love him so why walk away from that ????? Cardiff fans probably crave the PLand that looks miles away at the moment so it’s only a matter of time before they turn ............. distance etc is another factor ............I would be more worried if any of the east lancs club or even Wrexham came sniffing

At moment they may have more fans but that will continue to drop the longer they stay in that league and considering the gap in clubs what betting both averages ain’t far off each other this season .................

I'm more worried about Bayern's slow start to the league season. I think they'll have taken notice of our destruction of Stevenage, Hughes is a former player and Rupp is from Germany so will definitely be friends with Kahn, Rumenigge et al.

It wouldn't surprise me if he does his German mates a favour and let's them have him for free.

What division were Cardiff in when Bradford City were in the PL? Were we a bigger club than them then?
Are we a bigger club than Bournemouth even though they are 3 divisions higher? I’d say we are 100%

While I agree with you on most of your points, especially regarding continually throwing money at Odsal Stadium, the "dying professional sport" bit I can't agree with. It is a dying professional sport in Bradford due to successive bad management of the Bulls. Were they to be well management financially (privately) they could get back to where they were when the Bulls and Saint Helens were the top sides in the games attracting very good crowds. I've followed City since 1974 but I've also supported Bradford Northern/Bulls since 1966. When City were in the Premier League attracting good crowds Bradford Bulls were doing the same during the summer, with a lot of fans following both clubs.
Although I have enjoyed many good times at Odsal, both club matches and an International Great Britain v Australia (which we won!) I agree that Odsal should have been used as landfill then eventually sold off, both of which would have raised plenty of cash towards building a new stadium at Horsfall or helping finish off the development of Valley Parade (providing we owned it of course). So many bad decisions over the years on the part of many people.

Went 4 years without work then gets 12 wins from 25 at a L2 club, doesn't scream championship level recruitment. Would read sod all in that one.
