    Can't see it.

Being backed well here. Decent club. Doesn't need the money.

Mark Hughes can see the opportunity to build something special here with his team. I think he will take much pride in getting us to the Championship.

All of that plus he strikes me as a man with a fair bit of integrity about him. He's said himself that nobody was interested in hiring him for years, then he approached us and we've not only given him a chance, we've welcomed him with open arms and taken him to our hearts. I don't think that's something he'll turn his back on lightly, because I genuinely believe he is truly grateful for the opportunity he's been given here and is relishing it.

This is a problem having a high profile manager there’s always that speculation about him leaving. We had this with Roy McFarland in the 80s who quickly left us to go manage Derby. Hughes however has been and done the big time. I believe and hope he’s very happy at City and will continue in the job with City.

Very much my thoughts, both regarding Rugby League and the managing of Bradford's decline. A good example is the proposed demolition of the shopping centre that replaced the market that should never have been demolished. Kirkgate Market should have been redeveloped internally and sandbasted externally. What a wonderful asset to our once great city that would have been

I agree. He sought us out. He considers us a project. It is clear he us very happy here. He doesn't need a bigger salary, he has managed at the top level already. We won't keep him forever, but I can't see him leaving for Cardiff.

I think McFarland going back to Derby is different to Sparkie going to Cardiff, Derby was the club where McFarland had a large amount of success during his career a bit like the McCall situation with us, Cardiff could offer more money without a doubt but does he need the money at club that is 180 or so miles away from his Cheshire home, I cant see it Captain.

He's playing 4231 and tippy tappy football that doesn't work, and sticking with Andy Cook up front who is clearly not good enough.

He's lucky to be avoiding the sack, forget about higher level interest.

Spot on Kev. I believe he commutes from home in Cheshire to us. He couldn’t do that with Cardiff. At 58 why swop home for flat/ hotel living when on top of all you can prove you can do a job anyway. With better prospects of success than a club that’s in a spot of bother and a hire and fire owner.

I wouldn’t worry just yet. But having players and managers linked with higher clubs is the trade off for doing well and success. Bring it on.

He talked about having success not more money or fans.

Be honest Fordy what is more likely if you are a neutral Bradford going up or Cardiff going up?

In theory we could win our league and the pizza trophy that’s two medals, in the league Cardiff are in they’ll probably end around 12th.

For a manager who’s won silverware all his life as a player but not a manager, who’s a multi millionaire and doesn’t need to worry about his next pay cheque which is more appealing?

We may not win anything, it’s competitive sport but I think everyone will agree we have more chance of winning something this season than Cardiff. Absolutely nothing biased about it.

I believe he commented in an early interview he'd wanted to get back into the game for the Saturday buzz which he was missing and money was not a factor.
I'm with @Petrov@Petrov I believe coming to Valley Parade and seeing what it means to us Bradford City fans has shown him the potencial going forward if he can bring success to our club, you can see in his interviews he's enjoying his time here, long may it continue.

I like Hughes he's exactly what we needed. He almost instantly turned around a pretty toxic situation into a happy camp and got us going again.

However he was struggling to get in at a higher level prior to coming to us and we have had a good but not explosive start to the season so I just don't see a club the stature of Cardiff thinking they have got to get him away from us.

He will be linked with alot of jobs because of who he is but he's got a unique opportunity here a club with massive potential, a mostly fresh start this season in terms of players and the near 100% backing of the fans and club. He seems happy and there's alot to be said for that.

Why does “Rugby League” and Odsal stadium have such a hold on the thought process of Bradford Council as a means of pizzing money up the wall. I just don’t understand it. This perpetual chucking money at what is becoming a dying professional sport at an old stadium without vast amounts of cash is frankly mad. They need to think outside the box in truth. Spend £20m on building a decent stadium at Horsfall or a new brownfield site closer to the City and use Odsal to enhance the coffers of the City for the next 50 years or so ….Landfill!

The lack of professionalism killed Northern as I knew them RT , I loved watching them myself. Successive wannabe “ Chairman” reliant on Council funding thus getting them repeatedly out of jail was a nonsense supported by naive local politicians. Then once Sky got hold of the “ RL brand” that was it for me . It became a race to the top , leaving less well funded clubs to go to the wall or “ cheat” using borrowed money. Overspending on salaries became the norm just to stay ahead of the pack, with the aim of getting televised even more. Some clubs got away with it some didn’t. Same happened at City, let’s not forget. It was depressing to watch the downward spiral, with sadly and ultimately, creditors and the taxpayer footing the bill.

Once again we see a proposal for the cycle to return.
“I know let’s plough MORE taxpayers money into improving Odsal, and the crowds will return” . The flaw with the proposal……Who pays for assembling a squad good enough to challenge the top teams thus attracting these massive attendances?

It won’t happen , is my sincere belief, because whoever funding this hair brained scheme will look into the history cycle and realise it’s all been tried before and failed.

I hope I’m wrong, but I doubt it. Why…Because we have seen it happen , round and round over the last 40 years. History has led the way in this instance.

I don't have the impression that Hughes would leave midway through this job and whilst yes, it's a Welsh team, Hughes is a Wrexham boy and lives in Cheshire. I don't see it happening.

We have covered this topic so many times. Herr Rupp is what he is. We would all love an owner with long arms and shallow pockets, like most clubs throughout the country. He is a business owner, not a Bradford city fan and if the club survives by standing on its own two feet , he will not invest any more than he has.
We carry on as we are ,or even improve , then i believe we will gain promotion come May. Income must be up already this season , hopefully building the coffers for January.
On a side note our attendances , cheap tickets or not are better than many a team in the championship, we could easily hold our own in this division if we can ever get back there, let alone league 1. We have done it before.

Why would they go for Mark Hughes, when Derek Adams is the best manager out there?
