According to the T&A he met Rupp at the weekend and was promised a very competitive budget for next year and looking forward to getting new recruits in

Yes, reading between the lines I think it will be an improvement on this season's budget, but at the same time, top '5' (or whatever people are claiming) is already 'very competitive'.

I won't expect a major budget by any means, but Rupp is probably aware he's not got many free hits left.

I'm interested in Hughes outlining his links at other clubs for better loan players; that's what we were hoping to hear!

It's certainly going to be interesting to see who Hughes can tempt / afford.

Hopefully he can pull in a few favours regarding payment of loan players wages.

In some ways it looks like from a Rupp perspective its shit or bust. If we get it wrong this time who knows where we go from here.

Sparkie said in his latest interview he still had good contacts at various clubs, sounded very positive, even in his post match interviews where we've lost making positive comments with regards things we can improve on, the telling word "we" can improve.

Despite Rupps constant stance on sustainability etc. If the words are true that we will have a top 5 budget If it is spent correctly coupled with any extra potential pull having MH in charge could attract then it should still be enough to get us in the right direction. Every season regardless of manager we always seem to unnecessarily bloat the squad with poor players who many on here call out early doors and generally end up correct.

I agree I would prefer quality. 18/20 would be enough providing we get on top of the injuries.

This league is pretty simple strategy wise imo, 2 preferably 3 high end game changers, fill the rest with fit and capable grafters and keep formation/tactics pretty basic. Obviously assembling that set up is easier said than done but that is deffo a winning set up at this level.

Unlikely Hughes will be here in 12 months time when the penny drops how unambitious the club really are regarding investment in players

    What a load of nonsense.

Why would they move for a guy who hasn't managed since 2018, and hasn't yet done anything in L2?

I know City fans are simps and like to wish away every good appointment/signing we make, but come on...

Chances of Blackburn moving for Hughes in the Summer?

    ZERO.

The only people that think Hughes is in the running for the Blackburn job are probably Bradford City fans.

I thought Barca would be after him after a win over quality like Sutton and 4 league 2 wins in 12.

It isn’t nonsense, time will tell. Whether Hughes takes up the offer is anything thing.

Fair enough, but pretty telling that Hughes isn't even listed by the bookies - if he was that popular a choice, they'd be listing him for sure.

I personally feel there is zero chance of Hughes going to Blackburn, and zero chance they'd be looking at him - even if some fans wouldn't mind it.

I doubt he will leave City. He is enjoying himself and the challenge. He looks and sounds like a man who once committed stays that way no matter who comes calling. He might decide he would like to take Bradford with him?

Important that he feels fully supported by the Board. He has a plan that does require investment and as a club it is now time to support him financially. The technical players he wants to play will cost money. We have seen glimpses as yesterday. MH has fully engaged with the players and he is loving the fans adoration. Respect going both ways is what any club thrives on.
