The money to pay for it will have to come from somewhere.

 

So they are planning to issue a single voucher for the 6 week period, £90 per child.

Now some of those receiving it will have trouble budgeting etc so will the kids be getting fed towards the end of the holidays?

 

What are you expecting? A member of parliament to nip round with the chippy order every dinnertime?

 

no, but I would have though a weekly payment would be a better idea

 

in theory yes. In reality no.

the rules say what it can be spent on but when you get to the shop the shop don’t know where the gift card came from. So a Tesco one can be spent exactly the same as if you have your friend a Tesco gift card for Christmas.

 

What if they can't budget though? They might have to go hungry from Thursday onwards.

 

You think they'd spend it in 3 days? If that's true it wouldn't matter how you gave it to them, they clearly aren't going to spend it on their children either way.
