    Manchester United announces that current caretaker manager and former striker, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, has been appointed as the club’s full-time manager on a three-year contract.

    3 year deal ?.

    Doesn't mattet how long the deal is for.
    Contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on.

    Not strictly true.

    I believe it cost Manchester United in the region of £17m to dismiss Mourinho and his staff because they had contracts.

    That's the only variable on a contract ... the amount of compo payable .
    How many time has X,Y or Z (player or manager) signed a much heralded long term contract only to up sticks and jump ship when a better offer comes along?
    Let me just clarify my thoughts..... the timescale quoted on a contract isn't worth the paper it's written on.
