    I recently became aware that there is a non league club, Yorkshire Amateurs, in Leeds very close to where I live. Their ground is tucked away behind a residential area that I've never explored before despite living in the area my whole life.

    Anyway a mate of mine suggested we go along to watch in a few weeks. After doing a little research a familiar name cropped up. This team are so far down the pyramid I wasn't expecting to see any familiar names but alas Luke Sharry is listed in the squad. Can't believe a player with such promise is now plying his trade in the 10th tier on the pyramid. Anyone else seen players of yesteryear this far down?

    Yeah. One of those players from the past who is so much younger than you would think. Seems he was around generations ago yet he's only 30.

    I think McCall partnered him in midfield with Zesh one night, it was a total disaster and he was hardly seen again. I noticed him pre-season at Farsley when he looked a good prospect.

    Des Hamilton, ex- £m+ top flight player, was at a similar level wasn't?

    Brendan Ormsby (ex-Villa) also played in the Bradford Sunday League after he finished his playing days.

    Is that the club near Meanwood, I've played there, the pitch was huge, very boggy penalty areas.
    It was 0:0 a minute left, I missed the penalty, I got some shit in the clubhouse afterwards.

    Unfortunately, I bet it happens all the time. I think there's loads of players plying their trade in the very lower leagues who have stories about how they were former Prem trainees and members of centres of excellence. Sharry played twice, and we're the only league club he's played for. When I looked him up on Wikipedia, his profile led me to Luke Obrien, Danny Forrest, Jack Compton among others who are/were all playing part time football before their 30s.

    I think we'll see a batch of City '18 in a few years down there, and we'll all wonder why they didn't make it (or on this seasons performance, maybe not!).

    Leon Osbourne, Chib Chilaka, Kyle Harrison, Ross Hannah, Ben Gordon (not played for us but is from bradford lol) David Brown and Niah Payne all play 7-8 tier so i think they have found their level
