That's the season over for Shrewsbury. Wonder if there's a meltdown on their forum?

 

I'm probably pointing out the obvious here, but the Luke Hendrie situation was never about his ability. he wasn't a world beater, no, no one claimed he was, but he was a popular member of the squad, and the management team wanted him - the treatment of him was wrong, and it pissed off a lot of people, and ultimately ruined the second half of our season.

so all the jokes about how Edin was right, or how now shrewsbury have lost him they've no hope are all falling way wide of the mark.

Is it true they hired Edin to go down to Shrewsbury and deliver the news in his usual style?

 

Who is he worse than? Riley looks incredibly shaky at best yet has still been selected at times over Mellor? That's before you look at the other positions (Chicksen, Wood or Wright and Akpan).

It's certainly not cut and dried.

 

Even if he isn't a good enough standard ,last season with the Hendrie issue at Yeovil was the turning point in the season wasn't it ?

 

Bloody hell, they are well and truly doomed, they haven't won a game yet and now Hendrie's gone, you have to fear for their survival.

 

Anyone who watched him could see he was nowhere near the standard required for top half League 1 and at his age I doubt he'll improve much, he was ripped apart against poor Bury and Oxford sides last season. My only surprise is that a top 6 team took him on, must not have been many RB's available at the time. League 2 is probably his standard, although I'd be shocked if he were "stand out".

Some of the reaction on C & B was far more baffling then anything else though.

 

Overreaction I expect, that's making an ott comment not long after the event. But people dragged it on for months, you'd think a club legend had gone, not someone in the Matt Bates and Christopher Routis league of averageness.

 

Hendriegate was just the tip of the iceberg. Grimsby Town? We might be playing them next year.
