Big and toothy.

Fainted when I had the tetanus jab back in Bradford.

 

As a Yorkshire man the fainting may have been caused by having to spend money on new trousers

 

Back in 2016 I spent a few months going backwards and forwards to Middlesbrough. The place I was going was literally half a mile from the site of Ayresome Park. Beforehand I hadn’t given it a second thought as I couldn’t remember where Ayresome Park was, but as soon as I was in the vicinity it looked familiar. Still as rough as it was back in the 80’s, sinister almost. However, if you think the bit around Ayresome Park is bad you ought to go to South Bank which is on the other side of the town centre. Jesus. What a place.

 

O dear park- Torquay won today but they are in the final playoff- they are most NOT in the league yet

 

There were a few things landing at Stockport during those night games in the 70’s….usually building bricks! The trains from the Exchange were something else!

glad its hartlepool, the more northern clubs the better in my opinion

 

Hope Stockport come back up always had a good little rivalry with them, good to get a throwback team back instead of some of the crap in recent years like Sutton and Harrogate.

 

On the away terrace for a night game my young nephew spent more time watching the planes coming in to land than he did the football.

Went to the game with my dad, remember well coming out of the stand and their idiots charging at us from both ends of the street. Dad just pulled his collar up and said come on walk straight through them and i will belt anyone that comes near, he was a hard bugger , brought up on the streets of Liverpool during the war and a pretty handy boxer in his day.
Strange how nobody came near us , but we did watch the carnage from his transit van crowbar and claw hammer at the ready.

 

Millwall after final, 3 of us, 1 young, saw meat heads setting on young city fans, me and older shouted, ran towards to have a go, these meat heads were 40s, like us, lucky black maria turned up lights flashing before we got there, we would prob get battered, but the young City fans got no more once we interrupted. So plan worked in the end.

 

Total scum bags and that’s what they were like when they won !

 

I was brought up in my early days on a council estate in Bradford, so not the best start in life, but i have never understood the need to get involved in a fight at a football match. I get the rivalry can become pretty heated but to the point of wanting to hurt someone!

 

There were 3 Millwall fans in the bradgord end at Wembley giving the big one on the way to the exit , all looked mid 40's they got a good hiding on thecwst out though

 

No they're not

 

Stockport or Hartlepool tomorrow at midday.

Can't beat nostalgia.
Getting into the ground was an achievement at times.
