No. Cakes were (are) two layers of potato with a layer of fish in the middle. Scollops are just a slice of battered potato.

Odd you should mention the “ Yorkshire Cake”. Brand new fish shop / diner opened in Kings Lynn recently by a couple from Skeggy. Gave it a try last week. Oh my word it’s like being home again. Cooked fresh. Absolutely stunningly cooked with fresh fish between the slices of potato, non of that mashed up stuff. Certainly going again! -
