Staunton & Scales loan moves to BPA & farsley are no use to either players
They are far too good for conference north

I think its good for them to get gametime. Of the young lads those two look the most useful and we are well stocked for now in CB with Songoo there and CAM with Cooke, Eisa and Vernam if needed.

28 days not bad I suppose but thought Staunton would be better for us still in the matchday squad ..

So what do we/they do, particularly Staunton. He is on a three year deal here he can't risk waiting for us to move on all of canavan, O'Connor, songo and kelleher can he?

He is streets ahead of kelleher, songo shouldn't be near centre half and Staunton should be pushing for a place especially when we go with a three.

Scales is hit and miss and I honestly can't see him breaking through, he hasn't been particularly impressive, his goal at Colchester aside, when he has played but I see Staunton as one we will let slide away and end up regretting

    Correct move for Scales.

But Staunton should be used by us. He's capable at this level and a much better player than Kelleher.

I hope this doesn't knock Staunton's confidence because he is far better than Avenue's standard.

I hope he is in Adam's long term plan has he has very good potential in my opinion

Can we not consider the situation this is simply in the interests of both their development by going out and getting game time - and the manager is supporting it as he sees potential in them?

Fact is, neither are close enough to first team unless there are significant injuries. Staunton definitely has the bigger opportunity of breaking through but with us positioned where we are the target Adam’s has on his and the clubs back, no way is he risking an inexperienced 19yr old. This doesn’t mean he doesn’t rate him or isn’t thinking of him for the future.

Good opportunity for both. Close to home, can still train with the first team but also get some first team minutes = win/win for me.

We've looked far better at the back since Songo'o moved into what is now a back three. Far better for Staunton to be getting guaranteed minutes then being stuck on the bench because as it stands he ain't getting a start in any position. Same with Scales, might have potential but he ain't shifting Cooke and Adams is more inclined to switch Gillead to the 10 role if needed.

And don't forget that Foulds, who has done well in place of Ridehalgh, can also play left CB. So if Canavan got injured again, I expect Adams would play Foulds in his place ahead of Staunton.
In these circumstances a short loan spell seems a good option for Staunton to get game time.

    Maybe they got it wrong...??

Surely Kelleher should be the one going to Park Avenue?

On a different note, good luck to them both. I hope they do well.

They would have been better going to the likes of Halifax, Grimsby, Chesterfield or even Wrexhami in the top half of the conferencenot som Mickey mouse club like BPA

They can only go to clubs that show an interest in taking them though. Regardless of what you think of the likes of BPA and Farsley, it's still better for them to be somewhere they stand a chance of getting some regular game time.

Far below their level, however, so were we for Cullen, O’Brien, Pickford et al and look at them now..

So let’s hope it works well for the players and ourselves.

    Its only a month.

a long deal I would have issue with, but a month just keeps them sharp.

I'll tell you what's no use - sitting around at Bradford City not getting any game time and knowing you won't be factoring much at all this season.

    That's no use.
