Great to see young blood coming through, especially in the Premiership where not a lot have chance.

However, the love in for Klopp tends to put rose tinted specs on things. The average age of the Chelsea team they were playing (and beat) was actually lower than Liverpools. I don’t think that got a mention.

Reminds me when the media were all creaming themselves about Liverpool on for the quadruple, despite City being two points behind, still in the Champs league and Cup, and a game in hand. We all know how that turned out.

I like the man, and will be sad to see him leave the Prem, and it’s great that two “kids” scored last night, but the English media have their favourites and that annoys me.

He’s marmite I suppose. He’s very good at coming across all nice (the teeth help) but at the same time is a bit of a moaning diva. I can’t believe that bell end Steve Evans is now copying his fist bump antics to the crowd. Well actually, yes I can.

I know it's crazy. As you said Chelsea started with a younger team and still had a younger team when all younger players came on. And then they were playing a Championship club who had lost the last 2 games and started with only 3 of the 11 who started the previous league match.

Chelsea did completely freeze, rather than the youngsters smashing them into oblivion so building them up as like the Class of 92 or that golden generation of Barca is just crazy. Doing it in a couple of games against an underperforming team or a lower division is nowhere near to doing it over a whole season or really over a couple of seasons. Any young player can do well initially, inexperience can be a positive as they aren't initially scared, you need to do it for atleast a season, if not two (Adnan Januzaj looked amazing in his first season but when more was expected to him he couldn't kick on)

Liverpool's average age was boosted a lot with Endo (31) and Van Dijk (32). Chelsea's starting team and subs might have been younger but especially the subs they had a lot more experience and cost a lot more money. From the 6 subs Liverpool brought on only Gomez and Tsimikas had more than 8 Premier League appearances so they were inexperienced and almost straight out of the academy.

The media always start talking about a quadruple early in the season just like they did in January last season with Man City before Southampton knocked them out of the league cup. It will be talked about as it's never happened before and it's always a good talking point that gets interest.
