Rupp is a zero in terms of his input, Rahic literally ruined a promotion chasing side by installing himself as chief coach on high.

There's an unmissable gulf between the two.

 

13 shots on target and 2 goals scored - in four matches so far.. carry on like that and we're going to have to have 195 shots over the next 45 league games for our three strikers to get the 10 goals each that McCall expects.

I think a lot of the last few weeks frustrations and clear flaws were put on display tonight in that performance and people are annoyed about it. I think it’s been clear for a few weeks but either he powers that be can’t see it or are being told the squad is ok by Stuart? I don’t know which but that was so poor tonight

 

it's not just one game though, so far this season we've failed to thoroughly trouble each side that we've played and only had 13 shots on target in four games.

McCall talks about how he wants teams to play; get hold of the ball, get it wide and get it into the box. we haven't really seen any of that so far apart from one goal Vs a poor Bolton side. what has he been doing in pre-season? he has said himself that's where the essence of a teams play is bred into them. so far we've seen no passages of play, no domination in midfield and tonight I gave up counting how many aimless balls were just played forward by a centre-half under no pressure at all. there's absolutely no structure or shape to the team.

if this is laying a marker down for the season ahead, as all teams should look to do from the off, then it's going to be a very poor season again. I hope he can bring some fresh faces in and get us playing but I honestly can't see it - not with the squad he has put together.. and this isn't a knee jerk reaction, it comes off how he ended his last spell and how the team have played since he returned. it's not good enough by a long way.

 

The thing about wells is he was a class or three above and in a decent organised team, player for player each of these are players are complete garbage versus a Parky league two team, and that alone tells you how far off we are.

Problem for me is if heads start to down we could end up in the bottom half looking over our shoulders, having a goalie for skipper tells you we are lacking leaders.

League One feels a long way off at this point, I'm not judging us on that level at all but a basic competitive starting 11 should be in place by now and we look a fair bit short of that.

A performance like that is worrying but I agree, no reason to lose the plot just yet.

 

Looking at the changes made tonight, what on earth was Stuart thinking playing BRE? He's got no pace and is useless in possession. He is the last type of defender you would want as an outside centre half in a back three. Mind boggling.

Gets pretty angry towards end on subject of strikers....not his best interview quite worrying

 

He definitely said the game could have been counted as over after 6 minutes, and said there was no way we were going to make a game of it at 4-0 down at half time.

That's pretty definitive to me that he wasn't defending the performance. Pointing out a couple of positives is probably more for balance than to defend the performance.
