Not surprised. He has a good attribute as a young player, he's very mobile, uncompromising in the tackle and can attack as well as defend. I remember his first game for us, had never played a first team game but straight away looked a level above supposed established players like Akpan and Wright.

 

He's good but not that good, not quite premiership quality for me..

 

I'll hold my hands up over Burke. I honestly thought he'd make a PL player but hasn't really progressed.

Cullen didn't do enough going forward but he was certainly talented and it was obvious he'd play a lot higher than us.

Paudie? Never got the hype and unless he improves dramatically this year I think we'll be looking to replace him. Big year coming up for the lad so fingers crossed for him.

 

Anyone who understands football knew how good this lad was.

 

Think it's obvious to most of us that he did more than run around, plenty of ability and I think he will probably spend most of his career in the championship.

I generally ignore them sort of comments, as the same posters would be wetting themselves had he signed for us. They are talking nonsense, but you see it on a regular basis with certain posters.

It’s also his second 3 year contract with them, this time with an extra year in the clubs favour. Crap players can get one decent size contract but rarely two.

Pretty much everyone said he was our best player and would probably grow into a good championship player.

 

According to you, nobody can be judged on last seasons debacle but you're prepared to do it for 2 of our better players. Very strange.

I somehow doubt you'd be this critical if they were both City players.

He certainly looks the part considering the jump in class from last season. Glad he's doing well, he deserves it. Also, really glad they lost...win win!

Ive just watched Town get the result that will probably make the difference.
Lewis was class on all fronts tonight.Another of our young recent players whose workrate,quality and gamecraft belie
their youth and experience.
I dont know if he got man of the match but he should have.
His being left sided will make Prem clubs look at him.He is in my book an old style left half and reminds me a lot of
the late great Jim Baxter.The nearest equivalent of the new brigade in the Prem is Netanja Matic

Big leap there tbh, I liked him but I also thought Burke and Cullen were even better and both are just about in struggling championship teams and haven’t looked like going any higher the last year or two. It’s a big step up even to top of the championship let alone PL.
