Another 20 odd games in League one is just what both need in readiness for the championship next year with Town

 

He was outstanding. I'm confident he'll be here for the season. Why move him? Payne, I'm less confident we'll keep but I bloody hope we do.

 

Been saying it for weeks player of season for me thus far would love to get him at city on a perm deal if at all possible.

 

Had my doubts about us becoming Town's development squad, but it seems Edin may actually have chosen well.

 

What a player ! Reminds of a certain young Stuart McCall, covers every blade and loves to burst through from midfield

 

That will take some doing, he just signed a three year deal with Udders before coming to us, so I think they know how good he is.

 

Payne seemed quite happy commenting in the T&A about him still being here after January, saying he's getting game time and that's all that can be asked of a player on loan, and he'd heard nothing from Huddersfield or his agent about moving.

I'm hoping Town stay in the Premier, as although the kid has done well with us and as I say was outstanding today he's not ready for the top level as yet IMO, unfortunately if he continues like he is doing he could be loaned out to a Championship club next season.

 

Yes, he was outstanding. Full of energy, skill and tenacious as well. A very mature head on young shoulders.

The lad is box office, he continually improves every week. I was saying to @Bronco through the week that Huddersfield have a real potential asset with this lad. He’s got a bit of everything to his game and very much reminds me of a young Stuart McCall in his performances.

 

This last 5 months will have done these loan signings a world of good. Built character and taught them how to make an impact in a struggling side and come through it

 

The biggest worry is the loan players clubs might want them back.If we turn things round spectacularly,then it will be in no small part as a result of the form of our best (loan) players.

I think the Jan window will not be straight forward as who we get in will depend on who we still have as well as who we need to ship out.Being prepared for all eventualities is difficult but we have to try and get it right.

There's no doubt Payne and L.OB are going to have good careers at a higher level than league 1 but if they go back in Jan we could be back in trouble unless we can recruit quality replacements.Heres hoping.

 

He was tremendous yesterday, second half he was beating their players for fun they couldn't handle him. This formation suits him and the link up play between him Payne and Ball was good to see.

Starting to think if we only got to keep one of him or Payne I'd want him first. Obviously that's a hypothetical scenario and others may feel different but shows how central he is to this team.

Look back to the uproar when he came in compared to how Doyle was heralded as exactly what we needed. Just proves that you should never pre judge players, they will surprise you either for good or bad

 

Good read. Don't remember him getting too much stick. Let's hope the Terriers are happy to let him gain his experience here.
