Scandalously relaxed about recruitment in the summer. Every man and his dog could see we were short, so why the club didn't further strengthen is mystifying.
By the time January comes, we'll be signing players to assure us of a place the EFL next season.
Gross mismanagement.

So we can't defend and can't score. And yet those fundamental problems have been staring us in the face and nothing was done about it yet we went out and signed Gareth Evans, a good player at this level, but cannot play any position where we are truly desperate. Its stuff like this that has the club sat in 19th and fans turning more and more against the club.
Make no bones about, this club isn't good enough not to go down as it stands, i'm just hoping the club realise this before its too late.Mike Hunt, Idlebantam, Hoochy-Min and 5 others like this. -

Julian Rhodes has said that promotion isn't the aim this season. I'm not really sure why, when there's no ambition from within, anyone is surprised at the poor end results.

with no money from supporters coming into the club & the current pandemic threatening businesses, was it ever our aim for promotion? That would ultimately bring bigger overheads, inflated player wages, larger squad needed. This pushing us further in to haemorrhaging finances, no doubt resulting in another relegation. Maybe a thought, but could it be hopefully get supporters back, a bigger income then have a dart. Mind you saying that, I’d like to bet watching this shower every week would be a huge turn off for the masses.XCIV_Bantam, Two Legs, bantamlad92 and 2 others like this. -

We're in the same situation as every club in the league regarding loss of income, according to those in charge, we're in a better position than many others. As it stands, they're risking relegation through under investing in the squad. Nobody was asking for them to throw everything at it financially and risk another meltdown.
As has already been pointed out, the fans can see when there's serious deficiencies in the squad, but they were reassured that players wouldn't be allowed to leave without adequate replacements being appointed. That didn't happen, they started the season under resourced in the striking department and now that injuries have further weakened that area, surprise, surprise they're struggling to score. Add a very poor defence to that equation and it's no wonder that they're hovering over the non league trap door.Mike Hunt, Biker, Dime77 and 1 other person like this. -
It is getting tougher to argue in favour of Stuart but, as I say, NO ONE is going to be a success at City until a more positive and professional infrastructure is in place - and we have an owner who genuinely has an interest in the club and is prepared to back it because he/she/they want to be successful. We are currently afloat on an iceberg and there is no way off itRocket, Bantamsteve and Biker like this. -
Promotion would yes have brought extra costs but these would have been next year when tv monies and ticket income would have been greater than this year.Mike Hunt, Dime77 and Rogered Tart like this. -

Clarke been doing ok and Novak was getting in amongst the goals.
Agree tho, garbage team that is where it deserves to be. The defence is crap at full strength.shoatsy and FrenchBantam like this. -

Bet you could rip a tissue with your bare hands,
The sad thing is you’ve been right all along, and most of us agree, Stuart isn’t very good at being a manager, however he’s an absolute legend and loyal servant to the club.
So whilst I agree with the sentiment, I do wish you’d wind your neck in and stop the total vitriol and hatred to Bradfords fav ginger god (As a player and genuine good bloke)
It’s like you relish a defeat just so you can put the boot in, your always conspicuous by your absence when we win (ok that’s not very often!)simons (woking bantam) and Bantam Boy like this. -

Definitely not enough recruitment.
We started the season light on strikers, and Stuart dismissed the idea, but with Novak and (lol) Guthrie out, we're down to Clayton and Clarke which is not a prolific partnership AT ALL. Clarke, for his part, has played well, but he's not a goalscorer and Clayton is past it. Bringing Samuel in as the fourth (fifth?) forward simply wasn't sufficient. We needed another, and someone who might pose a threat.
Elsewhere, minimal recruitment on the wings, players like Wood with no competition for his first team place, etc etc etc.
List is long, and yet our squad looks a reasonable size?

Next season they are going to have to push season tickets to ‘normal’ rates. They will be lucky to have 6,000 in VP if & when we are allowed back. The dross of this season and last has folk finding other stuff to do. There is no direction, nothing positive to buy into. Same old sad tale at City. Folk are getting bored of Bradford City failure.
