100% agree, play the youngsters. They might also lose but I bet they'll show more fight doing it then the pathetic excuse of a squad that call themselves professionals footballers. If he continues to play first teamers and they end up picking up some points in the last 3 games, it will just feel like another kick in the teeth from them. I just want them to go away and go away now.

 

Agreed -- the only alternative on the pitch today would have been O'Brien. Another loanee.

here we go, bloody hell.. remember when that fella we signed from leeds became one of the best captains we ever had and a fantastic ambassador for the club and for football in general. i wish we'd never given the captaincy to wetherall, all downhill since then - all the fault of giving a bit of fabric to a chap who played for leeds.

 

Don't have a problem with this, as it singles the players are bottom rung and hopefully soon relocated.

 

If I was a fully contracted senior player and saw a young loanee with a handful of appearances made captain I'd be thoroughly ashamed of myself and question whether I actually have anything to offer the club.

Or question a manager who thinks it is ok to make a young loanee the captain thus reducing the morale of the senior players you are relying on to save the club,

 

Who gives a flying f**k about the morale of these players? The majority haven't cared about anything but themselves for the majority of the season so the only mistake was thinking they had the bollocks to change.

 

I've always had integrity and honesty throughout my Sunday league career. My problem was a dire lack of ability!

 

How do you know it was the manager's decision? Maybe none of the senior players wanted it and Paudie was the only one to step up when Caddis came off?

 

I wouldn't be in the least surprised if we don't sign young Paudie O'Connor in the closed season either on loan again if Leeds wont sell, the way Bowyer talks about him if he seems to hold him in high regards wouldn't surprise me in the least to see him made captain.

 

Out of interest, how has he played since getting back in? I hear he was pretty good in his first game back in, what about the ones following?
