Leeds and Town

Seems a bizarre sacking to me, he’s just got a win against second to keep them up. Obviously not where they wanted to be when the season started, but he wasn’t in charge at the start they were in trouble. You’d think he’d have got a pre season to bring his own players in, just had a quick look at some of the comments on Twitter and they don’t seem amused.

Massive error of jugdement there from town, knew they wouldnt go down with him in charge. This stinks a bit like Edin and McCall if you ask me.

 

Their chairman is a poor replacement for Dean Hoyle. Very suspect judgement and shorter pockets.

Cowleys were on their way up but Huddersfield was a step too far, clubs don't put out adverts for managers any more they will already have someone lined up...

 

If they advertise they have to follow the Rooney rule

 

Just less fans but far better, you know the old saying "quality not quantity".

 

The rumour is Chris Hughton next,which would follow the Rooney rule.
Maybe the Cowley way of football wasn't working at championship level and with the players not buying into it the manager bites the bullet.

 

They "belong" in the Premier League next season because they've won promotion to it, but their perceived status as some kind of heavyweight club is not backed up by their history. They've only ever won 5 major trophies, have spent half their existence outside of the top flight and are not even in the top 20 clubs who have spent the most time in the top flight. Middleweight at the most.

Try reform and go into non league apparently according to one wise poster it’s the way forward.

 

I think we'll probably go for a radical move like resigning Brooking, Bonds & Cottee

 

I think the Cowley Brothers have done a brilliant job in the lower leagues, including non league. However, I think the Championship is probably a step too far, especially with their style of football. Not surprised by the sacking.

I would love them here though, they would get us out of this league, I am sure of that. I think we are in for a a season of treading mid table waters under McCall I am afraid

Yes after keeping Town up I thought it was a bit harsh, came part way through the current season very little knowledge of the squad or the set up, I'd have thought the way they started keeping their Championship status would have been the chairmans priory.
