The good news is that Novak and Donaldson did well together at Birmingham unlike Donaldson and Vaughan at Birmingham which didn't work at all. Your right though we need another forward.

I'm not too sure Clarke is contributing much at the moment. He is a good player and an asset, but in current form I wouldn't be opposed to seeing Trevor's suggestion.
Rowe can't half hit a ball and if he is playing as the striker he'll have his back to goal plenty of time. If Cook is winning the knock downs and Rowe is running on to them and facing goal he might be even more effective.hornseabantam and Offcomedun like this. -
Might depend on the conditions. If the weather and pitch aren’t great, it might be better to go with Cook than Clarke. No urgent need for change though - those on the bench can’t complain when the team is winning, they just need to be ready to take their chance when it comes. Competition for places is healthy.

So now we’re playing with two target men up front. When we play with two up front that is.

Losing Vaughan and Doyle to Tranmere and Swindon and bringing in Lee Novak who Scunny dont want. How we have fallen. Awful.

End of next season?
Not sure that's a great bit of business. So we're building our team around two ancient forwards next season!Fordy117 likes this. -
Good signing. Well done City.
Of course he is a downgrade on Doyle and Vaughan but he's a unit who will be more suited to Bowyerball.Silverbantam likes this. -
Like for like with vaughan for me but Novak is more made for league 2 hoofball whereas vaughan is made for a passing football team. least hes played regularly in lower leagues so should be ready from the off to play long ball football haha

Great - a out of form striker who scunthorpe fans seem to be glad to see the back of.
He will thrive here with all the chances we make.TallinnBantam likes this. -

Other than Swindon, no-one is signing anyone any better
In fairness, if we did get Agard that would be pretty impressive and I think we'd have a better and more mobile strikeforce than we did prior when Doyle and Vaughan were here
A big "if" though!! I can't see it happening. His wages will be in the £8-10K bracket. Unless Oteh is going back and we get him on loan and agree a 50/50borderlescott likes this. -
