Reasons to be glad we now command bigger attendance figures:

    1) Away following - the City away following is fantastic and in League Two we go to several grounds and outnumber the home faithful. There are a few in League One where we do the same.

    2) But more importantly, regarding Stuart's comments in a recent T&A article (https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/18421969.it-team-play---also-handle-ourselves/?fbclid=IwAR0pO4Zr7xoPw2vC2zPDPgn3ZBWI-dVESJ2wXnT0wELd3I_CiE7-IJdqy54)

"May 14, 1983: CITY 3 (McCall, Jackson, Ellis) HUDDERSFIELD 1

“The Kop used to be split in those days and the right-hand side would be for the away fans.

“But Huddersfield had been promoted and they were given that whole terrace. I think they had over half of the crowd with their big following."

Obviously back then our ground was much smaller than it is now, but thank goodness we don't have to face the embarrassment of away fans outnumbering the home fans.

Hopefully we've moved past that, and don't have to suffer it ever again (except maybe in a cup tie nobody is interested in).

Regardless of how 'big' people think we are, it does show how far the club has come.

Any more positivity surrounding the cheap tickets/large attendances topic?

The 'big' club thing seems to come from players signing for the club and fans who don't seem to know the history of Bradford City. The crowd numbers is an interesting one, throughout my life of following City, up to about two seasons ago the home crowds were unprecedented. Even in the premiership era i don't remember such backing from the fans ( and thats allowing for the different capacity). Our away followings have been generally been poor though for the amount of home fans through the door. Never really seen us as a well supported club away from home.

How all this relates to how far we have come i don't know. After this virus it would be good correlate the uptake of season tickets with the numbers of other clubs in relation to how many fans renew and how many are lost.

You have to factor in how bad the oncoming recession will be.

If there are many who lose their jobs then all across football and indeed any sports the paying customers will be down in numbers.
With City, it will not matter if it is cheap season tickets or not.
