    Maybe he doesn’t feel ‘appreciated’ enough? All the reference to ‘meshing’ with McCall (or not), is interesting as it was 5 weeks after McCall was sacked that he left for Vale. I notice that he was relegated to the subs bench last match, but failed to make any significant impact following his introduction.

    Probably, although you could argue Guthrie had a lay off through covid.

    To simplify though, Hanson went 43 games. Guthrie is on 32 so just 11 to go before he matches him.

    I suppose the gulf in difference is that Hanson was one of our all time record scorers. Over 274 appearances he managed 76 goals, average 0.28.

    Guthrie 13 appearances 0 goals average 0.00. His ratio hasn’t changed since he went to Port Vale!

    He was a City player for just short of a year.

    If you want to transfer your stats to a Hanson thread then fine, this one is about Guthrie and in my opinion he is a failure as a striker.

    We're talking about goal droughts and I'm highlighting Hanson's as it's the most comparative to Guthrie's I can think of. It's also far more on topic than you hijacking every match day thread with what poncey beer you'll be drinking next.

    Feel free to suggest another comparison we could use or simply move the posts if it's upsetting you though.

    There's no defending the runs they've both had, they're both truly terrible.

    I wish I could be bothered digging up the football league's longest barren runs but Google just seems to throw up PL stats.

    I bet there's not too many centre forwards completing a full season (46) apps without scoring though.

    Impact sub. Just didn't read the Impact Sub manual before the game.
