Hope the new kit is white shirts, white shorts and socks trimmed in claret and amber with the logo "Feck Leeds" on the back :)

Wish just for once we could have a more mainstream manufacturer. Adidas Puma Admiral would be good....but no we have to have a shit brand every year with a crap sponsors logo boring white JCT glued on in letters that fall off.

Wow I forgot that! You mean a team in a Supa Ultra White kit kicked around in League 1. Surely a ‘decent’ kit would have overawed the opposition who would literally roled over for them!

heard from a good source home kit will be back to basics (stripes) but the away kit will be something completely different and to use his words "out there"

Leading fashion retailers have been doing this since the start of trading Ronnie, they don't go bust because they run promotions at Christmas!

OK, OK, OK ....... To both you and @trevor@trevor ......
I get the point .......... Retail in general does have to make the best of a seasonal market.

    However, to you both ........
Come the end of year, the 'Rag Trade' are starting to launch Spring and Summer fashions, not introducing a new line of product, whose life is short term, because it's current - NOT without severe discounting !!

HOW can you launch a 2019 / 2020 third team strip in December, when the season is already half done ? It's unlikely the kit will be worn until 2020, so will only have half a 'shelf life'. So why call it a 2019 / 2020 Shirt, when it will be only partially 2020 ??

FWIW, my wife has occupied a senior role within the 'rag trade' for over 30 years, supplying major retailers with 'seasonal' garb. Such products are introduced via cat walks, etc, BEFORE the season, not bloody half way through it. NOW do you both get my point ??

I for one would not purchase - at FULL price, a damn Shirt with a limited life expectancy.

Yes, but you tend to find that it’s the “new season” stock that is brought in to the shops. You don’t tend to get winter woolies in the “new lines” being sold in January.

The fashion business tend to bring out new seasonal ranges that are slightly before when you actually need it.

Besides, if you go into a retailer and buy yourself a new top, you don’t expect to be throwing it away just 4mths later. And that’s what fans would do if they bought a 3rd choice shirt in December

It is possible that a third strip, launched at Christmas, could be used the following season as well. That could make a big difference to sales. One or two clubs still use strips for more than one season, e.g. second strip one season, becomes third strip the following season.

I think EFL regulation 38.1 is the relevant one here:
So, for this season, the Club would have to register the third kit, with the EFL, this summer or restrict its use to one home match only. Of course, this wouldn't stop the Club from then registering the same shirt for the following season.
