As far as I remember, he had a bad knee injury with us -- he missed quite a few matches in the middle of the 87/8 season, played less than half of the next season with us, and then his League career was in essence over. Ended up with Hereford for a few matches, and that was it.

A great shame, as he was indeed quite the player.

Very sad. I don't quite know what happened with him because he was one of the standout players in our nearly season, then just seemed to get bombed out and fall out of favour for some reason.
Condolences to his family R.I.P Karl.

Sad news indeed. Thoughts with friends and family. RIP Karl. My brother was on a YTS down at City during Karl's spell, spoke very highly of him at the time.

Always remember him city as I started watching.

Bobby, Stuart, Megga, Hendrie .... he was Mr consistant. Part of a city team which apart from the Parkinson era we still haven't managed to.

True legend, ❤❤ to his family

That 87/88 team was the best I have seen in my time, technically better and much more pleasing on the eye than the 98/99 team. Loved the formation Dolan employed and the way it made us play silky football. I'm convinced if we had gone up that year, we would have fared better than the later promotion team did. Such a shame that losing Hendrie & McCall lead to a decline between 1989 and 1998.

Yes different times I'm with you if we had gone up we had some young lads in the squad all capable of getting better, plus we would not have needed a rich owner to survive in the then First Division.
