    Walk free is a very poor headline. He was sentenced. He didn’t get away with it

    To be fair if you read the article it says he got an 8 months sentence, a fine and has to sign the sex offenders registery. The prison sentence is just suspended for 18-months due to the fact he has a support system standing behind him and had already started getting professional help.

    Sending people to prison isn't always the best thing, not only is it expensive but the tools people need to reform are often not available in prison and as such people can often come out worse. As long as he is being monitored and continues with the professional help it seems the more sensible approach

    Remind me of that when someone next gets sent to prison for a trivial matter.

    In general, people don't go to jail for trivial matters such as TV Licence evasion or failure to pay Council tax. When the minority do its usually due to repeated convictions over a number of years or doing something that breaks the terms of their suspended sentence
