    Although the last two games at home have been thoroughly dismal to watch.

    An absolute chore to attend (the better or certainly worse element of the marriage!) except for going with family and friends.

    Despite being seventeenth. I will write that again 17th! Bizarrely we are only 3 points off the play offs and 5 points off the automatics.

    I have a couple of friends who support other teams. One is a Burnley Season Ticket holder and the other an Oldham Athletic Season Ticket holder!! They ‘sort of’ **so funny look at City with a degree of envy!

    Even one son-in-law who is a Manchester United fan (and former City season Ticket holder before they emigrated) is more despondent about his Old Trafford allegiance.

    I can see why some focus on Cook’s goals being the difference. They actually are. After 8 league games we have scored 6 and against 8. Last season at this stage it was scored 11 and against 7 with Cook scoring 6 goals.

    This season Cook has played in 5 league games without scoring, last season he had scored 3 in his first 6 league games increasing to 6 goals after 8 games. His goals turned draws into wins and of course he continued on his once in a career fantastic goals achievement.

    Interestingly at this stage last season goals from other than Cook was 5 so this season there is a one goal improvement. This probably gives Hughes his hope missing the key point that we don’t create many chances for Cook or for anyone else.

    Surely Hughes did n’t think Cook was gonna repeat his 30 goals this season did he? It appears that is where he has placed all his hope. So the only plan is that for the second consecutive season Cook has to outscore every other forward in L2 and repeat his once in a career performance.
    Come on Andy get on with it,

    Last season it was Matt Derbyshire (aged pro not played in the UK for years), Vadaine Oliver (8 starts+22 off the bench= 3 goals, injured); Jake Young (mysterious bust up? Scoring for fun at Swindon).
    Over the summer it has been, Tyler Smith (so far underwhelming); Adam Wilson (unproven young none league player).
    Loan. Rayhaan Tulloch. Loanee from WBA. (Not scored a senior goal in the UK).
    So 6 strikers on the books, in addition to Andy Cook. If we had 3 of better quality, it would seem to be a better use of funds.
