Seriously, I’d want him to start cancelling some of the contracts of players who quite clearly, are nowhere near good enough to be playing for this football club.

 

Why not? 2 million quid would not only help us survive but also probably gain promotion to championship. They can have their interest back then

 

Up the wage bill and get in free agents with experience. Dont look for any strikers who cost upfront but look for a hanson type target man on a free.

Id like to keep playing youngsters who have done well but give them enough breaks to give them that fight to get back in the squad.

Avoid relegation and finish on a run to take us into next season.

 

Get rid of the squad deadwood , sort out the staff ----- Abbott and Drury need to go . Let DH bring his own men in , stop board interference on the pitch . Try to start building the fans trust back up , all these will help create the old VP fighting spirit .

Why would you think Julian Rhodes would have anything to do with the footballing side of things, he will leave that to David Hopkin just as he and Mark left footballing matters to Phil Parkinson.

Don't meddle in things that you don't understand, that should be the first lesson Julian should teach Edin, don't you agree ?.

 

We need a way forward , this must come from the top , all sorts of ideas on here ( and elseware ), but we've lacked a plan for nearly 18 mths . Hopefully with Julians input we can start putting things in place to kick start the season and maybe even move up the table .

Spot on.

The biggest job is to sort out the squad ready for January. This means shipping out those who are not good enough for league one right now as well as bringing in the players that DH wants.

The question is whether Mr Rupp wants to fund
(a) the cost of terminating any contracts early for players that are willing to leave
(b) the cost of transfers/agents fees in January
(C) an increase in the wage bill with income for the next year or so looking to be on a downward trend.
(d) Bringing in better coaching staff.
This will not come cheap. Hopefully Mr Rupp understands how costly Mr Rahic's steep learning curve has actually been, and is prepared to underwrite it.
