We were commenting on that too. But at the end of the game he made a point of applauding the City fans. Glad to see that City fans seemed to reciprocate (apart from a couple of foul mouthed clowns).

Agree take Pickford out of the equation and he would be my choice of any of the others since who played for us when he left for Burton, and still only just gone 31 years old.

 

Letting him go made sense at the time. He's improved since. He looks more mature, more assured and commanding. Good keeper at this level.

 

I hated it when he left, I thought he was a good keeper at our level. I never really understood why he has to go.

 

The lad wanted a new contract and the old board were reluctant to offer him one, the lad came back hoping he'd get an offer even pre season trained with us but no contract was offered so he signed for Burton.

 

Yes, but why not offer him a contract, short sighted in my view. My son and I had a further discussion yesterday about this, he didn’t think he was that great and wasn’t bothered when he left, at the time I was going on about it then.
