    Or there is more to it may be. I'm wondering if he made racial or religious comments to someone else and Stendel stood up for them which saw Barton shift his anger to him. Also what is Stendels religion as the actual charge covers both

    It's a strange one. Barton is denying everything yet reports suggest he punched and headbutted Stendel and also grabbed him by the throat. Stendel was treated by a medical team and apparently had to have emergency dental surgery on the Sunday as he'd lost teeth in the attack. According to one account I read tensions were already high but when Stendel called Barton a "f*cking Scally" Barton lost it and attacked him. This is all hearsay at the moment though but I'm very surprised that Fleetwood haven't suspended Barton while they investigate.

    Wouldn’t surprise me if nothing comes of it. A lot of he said she said. If it was clear cut a charge would have happened.

    I don't think there is any medicine that will cure being a dickhead. People mistake a willingness to debate as intelligence, Barton does sometimes engineer good debate but even when he was doing his stint on talksport there was always an air of aggressive confrontation in his demeanour. Only positive is he's a big fan of rugby league.
