Too true
You are talking nearly 40 years ago and those on here of a certain age can picture any player from that era in seconds The same can't be said in another 40 years with any of the present first team
In those days football had "characters" not overpaid spoilt children not just a problem to our club but football as a whole
Very Sad

The players then who weren't earning a fortune had the respect of the fans as they always seemed to put the effort in I remember the late Norman Corner going round local schools training the budding stars of tomorrow Bruce Bannister did his fair share too I always looked forward to football practice when he was taking the session
Don't know for sure but I very much doubt any of our first team would even consider doing that nowBudgie likes this. -
Firstly they have to earn the right and put the effort in on the pitch
Even if a player is not exceptionally talented he can still show some effort
Sadly lacking from some of our players this seasonBronco likes this. -
Used to love watching these players. Then on a Sunday I used to go down to Martins bargain centre in Shipley which was owned by the then chairman, Bob Martin. Don Hutchins used to work in there sometimes . How things have changed.
