Plenty of crosses in the first half yesterday but the quality was awful - all over hit, especially from Foulds who had a poor game.

Barely any crosses whatsoever after the break - a shocking second half all over the pitch.

 

Most successful teams have a solid “spine”
Decent keeper,solid centre halves,tough midfielder and a goal scorer.
We’ve easily got 3 out of the four.
In fact I think we’ve got the best keeper and in Crichlow,one of the best defenders in the league.
Cooks figures speak for themselves and while some say he could possibly do a bit more,his job is to score goals which he has done better than everybody else bar one player in league 2.
WhileTuesday was truly awful,I don’t think we are a million miles away.
Address the 1 missing bit of this “spine” in January and we might not be too far away come May.

 

Halliday is good enough . LB is the issue imho. No1 is the middle then LB in that order.

 

Funnily enough its got us 7th 6 points from 3rd with a game in hand! So must be doing something right..

Doyle didn't score for us because we didn't play to his strengths. Swindon did and look what happened. We don't play to Cook or Oliver's strengths either, but yet Cook has still some how managed to get 16 goals so far this season, mainly from playing up front on his own. Imagine how many more he could bag if we did play to his strengths.

Check his goal out at Mansfield where he outmuscled his man, or where he finds space (winner against Salford) meaning he doesn’t have to challenge, or any of his 16 goals this season and defensive headers.
This is just another one of some bizarrely negative comments about Cook - on a par with Hughes assessment that he’s scored 16 goals this season but let’s focus on the two at Orient and Carlisle where he didn’t.

Signing Wyke would make very little sense but our whole January window hasnt made any sense so you never know.

I'm not offended, i'm looking for a viable reason as to why they changed it from a term that didn't offend anyone? As it stands no one has come up with a genuine reason other than to throw out the word 'inclusivity'. We ain't talking terms here that could possibly be construed as homophobic or as having a racial agenda. We are talking of how some person could possibly be offended by the term 'man' being used in a game played by men. We don't have mixed football teams at professional level, so i'm pretty damn sure i'm watching 22 men on the field tomorrow when we play Mansfield tomorrow.

 

With a settled starting 11 and the return of Eisa, Walker and Osadebe I think we’re fine as we are. Possibility a quality box to box CM to partner Smallwood but for once we’re going into January not needing a complete overhaul

 

Pete O'Rourke has said that us, Charlton and Sheff Weds are trying to sign Tyrese Owen from none league side Kingstonian. He's a 6'6ft midfielder, 23 years old and has scored 10 goals so far this season. Had a trial at Huddersfield last month. He's playing on a non-contract too so would be a free transfer.

 

We could sign Ronaldo and some would whine.
Why does it matter if he’s 36? If he scores goals and we get promoted who cares?
