Anyway, those regulations are the minimum requirements. It means that third world countries are not disadvantaged by having to pay the players or compensation. The organising committee of the competitions can agree other arrangements to facilitate good working relationships With clubs, which is what fifa have done in the document I linked to above.

If the forms have to be completed and returned by a certain date and covers players for the 2yrs leading up to the WC, I can’t see why we wouldn’t have done so. At some stage, we had McArdle, McCartan (N.Ireland), Mezza, McGowan (Australia) and Doyle (RoI) as potentials.

Surely with that potential windfall, we would have been all over this like a rash.

 

Meredith has been included in the Australia squad. Well done to him. The culmination of a lot of hard work, which started in Non League 7/8 years ago. Delighted for him.

Roughly worth about £2100 per day that Australia are in the competition.

Does it start from the day the squad meets ? If so we are looking at 30 days x £2000 which would at least fund a squad player or 3/4 of a bench warmer. Do we have any extra payment linked to Pickford’s development or England caps for Delph ?

I think city may have got a very very small % like a few quid when Pickford was singed by Everton as some kind of development fee

But I doubt anything for delph

 

They'll practically pay for themselves! Get them in!

 

With Delph it will depend on what was in his last transfer deal from Villa to Man City. If there was a clause for caps then Villa will get that payment. Leeds would then get their percentage of that and we would get our percentage of whatever Leeds get.
