Jake Young loaned to Barrow

On loan for rest of season

Not sure what to make of this one, he was a tidy player who could score, and Barrow could be in the mix come the business end of the season

 

Not adverse to him Going out on loan, but who signed off on the idiocy of sending him to and potentially strengthening a club level on points with us in the promotion chase.

Absolute shambolic decision and if this decision turns out to bite us on the arse, then someone's head should roll

I agree with loan. Give the lad a chance to shine and develop but not to a rival.

 

Focus on ourselves, if we fail to go up it isn’t because we loaned Young out it’s because we weren’t good enough.

Loans can’t play against parent club

 

It was tongue in cheek, I was hoping that was part of the contract. I just feel if he starts scoring again, we will have given away an asset we could have used.

 

I mean he can’t play against us so that’s irrelevant…

 

Mark Hughes master class in not giving a player a chance, while others are played every week, when performing poorly.

 

He’s not as good as people make out here. He has done nothing but most claiming he’s been held back. Same people who say Staunton is the next Terry.

 

I don't really understand why he didn't get more chances. The explanation coming from Hughes was weak in my view. We said we've done our research better on signings but here's a lad on a three year contract that the manager doesn't like for some reason.

Not saying he's a world beater but we've struggled for shots, assists and goals and now have Cook suffering the same fate as Young, Wright who has left and Young gone.

If Walker isnt playing we're stuffed because neither Gilliead, Chapman or Smallwood are going to score and we have about four attacking players on the pitch but only one really gets into the penalty area.

I don't remember the last time the manager was backed as well as this and frankly the outcomes so far are a bit flattering and underwhelming.

 

Alternatively, he goes there and derails their promotion push by sulking because he is not showing enough to the management to warrant a squad place. Just one chain of thought and totally my opinion.

 

But if we're going to invoke that rule, then he could only go to about 8 L2 clubs!!

Young's an investment and it's good he's getting a L2 loan - as we can see if he can do something he's not done here or at Forest Green and that's keep himself in the first team.

Hope you are right, but this could very well be an “Eoin Doyle” scenario all over again….
