Well they need to work on defending in this scenario.
My comments are regarding the last few seasons too.- Don - the home form is dire

Are you saying the manager doesn't currently have full control over first team affairs

Don't do booing nor did I stay back to applaud what we'd just witnessed, but what I did do when the 3 went in was turn to the guy sat next to me and said "were getting creamed" ;).

To me our home form has been poor for a few season now. Not helped by who ever happens to be the manager in that six months period.

GA is showing himself up as being a hoof merchant. And forgetting the basics.

Those poor footballers on thousands a week being all upset by some disgruntled fans. That's why we are where we are, They need to grow some balls. Alas they won't.

I don't think we should boo when we're 1-0 down at half time or have just drawn a game.

I think those people are insane.

But I did boo for the first time in years at half time against Mansfield before making a very early exit. I'd already read Rupp was there, which was why I booed.

Maybe getting on the front foot from the kick off might help. The number of times I’ve witnessed the opposition have most of the ball, attacking our goal in the first 5-10 minutes is ridiculous. This leads to an expectation that the game will play out as we’ve seen so often. I remember going to games wondering how many we’d win by and never expecting to lose for one minute. That was probably when Blake, Mills, Lawrence and Beagrie were playing. The current players play with fear and know that one misplaced pass will likely be met with cynicism rather than encouragement. With the exception of Halliday I’d say probably every other player has come in for stick this season.

Wow you blaming the fans! It’s not the fans fault! Don’t be so bloody silly!

Maybe, if we played like a home team, on the front foot and pressing for most of the 90 mins then crowd would get a lift.

No it’s not the boo boys fault….Does it help or make it worse……Makes it far worse.

It a phenomena that wasn’t around in the old days I can ever recall. It was “ frowned” upon and swiftly dealt with . @Bronco@Bronco , @Chippy@Chippy ….Is my mind playing tricks?

Social media, cheap season tickets and lack of investment adds to the toxic movement.

For the life of me, I cannot fathom how/why people stay back after such a poor a performance as Saturday, yet still clap the players.

    1-5 - it’s laughable really.

We had something similar in the Doncaster game the other week.

Walker took a goal kick, cook headed back towards midfield, the midfield headed it back towards ciaron Kelly, who under pressure headed it back towards our goal for a corner.

From our own goal kick, Doncaster got a corner without touching the ball

We’ve all been there before when we’ve conceded an early goal and the crowd have lifted the players.
If we have hope and belief in the players on the pitch then of course we’ll back them.
That first goal typified the shambles at the moment, their two biggest lads at the back post and our two biggest lads the other side of the box!
The players and management have to give something back.

Our home form has been dreadful all season purely down to 2 things.
We play 6 defensively minded players every match, and the players up top aren't fast enough or strong enough to win matches by themselves.
Change the formation to a 4-3-1-2 like Mansfield's and give the full backs license to attack at home, we would see much more going forward and stop teams from feeling comfortable and gaining confidence.
By all means we can revert to the 3-4-3 away from home, which works, but lack of attacking players out wide and support in the middle is killing us at home.

    Walker

    Halliday . Platt. Kelly. Richards

    Walker Macdonald. Gilliead

    Chapman

    Cook. Smith.

That for me is the best line up we can produce with the players we have at this moment.
Give everyone the licence to get high up the pitch and go for teams.
Of course, these players can be improved on but it's what we have atm

A fair suggestion. I have said for two , maybe three seasons, I much prefer watching away games. The middle of the team has been the largest barrier to progress, I fear Pattison and to a lesser extent, was that missing driver needed to add pace , rather than plodding down the middle.

Too much to ask to see a fit Walker, Odour, Pattison , and Jake Young next season?

I also think we are missing a dog of war in the middle of the park. Players that will die for the cause. Gillehead and Halliday are pretty near but a combative midfielder has been missed badly....

For me we have been missing a really competitive midfield for many a season. We just do not give it enough priority. However in my view it is the engine of the team it is where we manufacture creativity drive “and you will not pass’ mentality. Saturday as other games was like the opening of the Red Sea! If we get that right then we are really in a position of power in this league.

We got beat by Wycombe in the Fl trophy but the fans were behind the lads - even at FT - because we had a go.

so if the performance is there. Fans will acknowledge it. Many times this season, its been shocking.

Alexander set the tone on Sat with his dreadful team selection. Fans were shaking heads once saw line up. How can you drop Halliday? He’s been terrific. How can you drop Cook for Smith. Cook always does well vs old clubs and had a point to prove to them more than anyone. Plus, Smith was never gonna win battles against big Flint.

I agree with you Don but we also missing a goal scoring midfield, our goals scoring from midfield is pathetic.

I hope we can improve on Oduor in the summer! Goes missing far too often, gives up possession easily and doesn’t work hard enough off the ball

We have neither combativeness nor creativity from midfield. When you have neither of those in midfield it really makes you wonder what we do have in our midfield areas and probably points out exactly why we get overrun so often
