My stepdaughter, Jennie, is currently on day two of what is generally regarded as the toughest race event in the country. It is the Winter Spine, which involves completing the Pennine Way in six days. She works at Sheffield University, and is trying to raise money to provide scholarships for women who otherwise might not be able to attend university. Some of you reading this may have seen her on Calendar a few days ago. So far she has done about 65 miles since 8.00 yesterday, and had about two hours sleep.

I hope that this is not against any forum rules, if it is feel free to remove my post. But I thought that I would post her JustGiving link, which explains in much more detail what she is doing, and why. She is a remarkable woman, she only started running five years ago.

    Here is the link:

Any contributions, no matter what size,
    will be very gratefully received.

Jennie crossed the finishing line at 5.40 this morning, and we were there to see it happen. She did it with over a day to spare. She is now back in Sheffield, and will probably sleep for a week.

So far she has raised £8000 towards her overall target of £10,000. Many, many thanks to anyone who contributed.

So huge thanks to anyone who contributed
