Anyone watched the interviews on ifollow? Couldnt get through either of Akpans or Doyle’s they were that bad. I felt a bit sorry for the lad interviewing them, must have been his first time on the job, full of um’s and erm’s and repeated questions. Needs to be better.

Inspired choice to conduct the interviews when there were two mowers going up and down the pitch.

Yes for a £10 match pass. All midweek games are available to watch unless you’re on Sky.

Talking of which. Don't they show League one games live anymore on Sky Sports?

The sky website is showing all the championship games tonight on sky sports, presumably in a red button feature.
I can't recall seeing many league one fixtures this season on TV.
IMO the gulf between league one and the championship will become massive very soon partly because of this

It’s all down to viewer numbers I’m afraid. The Championship has massive clubs throughout that will pull the numbers. In my view, the EFL should sell the rights to L1 & L2 separately or at least force Sky to sub licence a set number of games out

I understand why but as I say it's creating a bigger gap between the top and bottom two leagues. I agree with what you suggest - I think the BBC should be given the rights and screen a couple of league one/two matches a week, will help to encourage people to become fans of lower league football as chances are those with Sky sports are already very much into football/other sports

They would never give them away but understand that a free to air offering gives exposure to lower league football but again it’s a numbers game. Red button or online maybe. I’d pay a fiver a month for a streaming platform that shows games every week but because of blackout rules youd be up against PL/Champ games

The thing for me is they show all midweek championship games on the red button, why not league 1&2. The cost shouldn't be that great considering they have a camera at every game anyway. The only additional costs would be commentating and I'm sure they could work something out with regards local broadcasting channels such as pulse.

I was at an EFL meeting today outlining the sponsor deals for next year.

To highlight your point, all of the commercial revenue generated by the EFL is split between the clubs, including the TV package deal. 80% goes to the Championship, 12% to League 1 and 8% to League 2. That is a massive line of income and underpins the gulf between the divisions. So championship clubs get 6.5x more money than we do.

That feeds through to higher wages, transfer fees etc.

That's why you see so many promoted clubs from this division struggle, eg Barnsley, Rotherham, Wigan, Bolton, Millwall, Burton.

The Championship is the 5th biggest league in the world based upon revenue (Premier, La Liga, Seria A and Bundesliga being wealthier)

This is from the EFL site

EFL Clubs will be able to live-stream in the UK and Ireland any league match via their respective iFollow (or equivalent) service that takes place outside the blocked hours of 14.45-17.15 on Saturday afternoons and that is not broadcast live on Sky Sports. Fixtures taking place on Bank Holidays or Easter will be unavailable for streaming.

But they did allow Boxing Day games, so who knows

Until the league one and two clubs join together as a unified block and vote as such to exert some power the bigger clubs will take the lions share
